Does that mean you vote purely for your favourite slebs, regardless of how well they do on the night?
I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I made the mistake of voting for Hamza early in the final, giving him all three votes at the first opportunity.
I do regret that now, as on the night itself, Helen deserved the win.

As for last week's dance off debacle, I saw all couples dance and voted purely for my favourite, albeit with reluctance, as I do want Krish to get his Blackpool Bonus for bringing me some joy this Autumn...but by God, was that the worst Couple's Choice I have ever seen. God knows what Matt Flint was thinking.
I do regret that now, as Adam was more deserving to go through.
I'd hoped a tie and bottom two bounce with mild peril for Ange S/Krish might have placed Ange R and Bobby in the DO as I thought they'd have to lose her at that point but it wasn't meant to be.

I called it correctly on the paso though. Canny Kai or Riggy Producers. It's what I'd have chosen for Ange's best shot then a Morecambe and Wise AS number, after the Come Dancing memories VT palaver.

Shakira's always a bop though and Bamboleo always makes me smile so I wouldn't have a Samba Dance Off nailed on at this point.

I'd also totally forgotten Gavin Henson doing a samba to Bamboleo in the semis of his series (not a great one, it has to be said). Natalie Gumede and Artem also did their samba to it. I only remembered Jamie and Laura's.

With You I'm Born Again is the most aptly named Strictly song ever, as it's been used that many bleedin' times you do get that whole Groundhog Day feeling every time you hear it.

Bamboleo would actually make a really good paso song.

Does anyone want to hazard a guess if Layton and Nikita get through to Blackpool what they'll get? I wonder if they'll do couples choice for a showstopper? Have they done Charleston ?

Have watched Matt's tango. Hung Up isn't very Spanish so not for me for a paso but in my head, I'll be singing "Ange goes by...so slowly!" because I'm a meanie.

I voted for Hamza in the final too because I loved him and Jowita together and thought he was brilliant in his own way, but I also think Helen Skelton has her place in the best dancer who never won Strictly hall of fame, along with Danny Mac and Ricky Whittle.

I still watch Danny Mac dances on YouTube. He was exquisite, my favourite celeb on Strictly ever. I would also put Denise Van Outen and Natalie Gumede in the group of celebs who should have won but was ROBBED

I'm not sure about Layton and the Argentine Tango. It's meant to look instinctive and natural, and his acting skills are a bit ....... well, let's just say he makes Norma Desmond look like someone who'd get turned down by Ken Loach for being a bit too authentic.

Lakita are dancing to Tattoo, a song Nigel had mentioned he'd like to dance to at the start of the series.

I hope it was a coincidence and not a deliberate choice by producers in favour of Layton.

I remember that song winning Eurovision and it is the very definition of consonant-free caterwauling. The song that wuzrobbed, Cha Cha Cha by Kaarija, would have made a really good leftfield steampunk Hallowe'en cha cha.

It was a foxtrot that Faye and Gio danced to Just the Way You Are. It was one of my favourite performances of theirs - I loved the playful non-foxtrotty interlude in the middle (I can even remember Craig questioning whether he liked it or not... but then he said he did like it).

I think James Jordan touched on this at some point, I'm sure he said song suggestions for dances would be asked for / thrown around by the pros and celebs and it would be pot luck whether they'd get them. Seems a bit unfair really if you really want a song and someone else gets it. I think he gave examples of this but can't remember.

So far Angela S's ballroom dances haven't been styled very nicely - last year Mollie and Carlos had a lot of sickly sweet routines I seem to recall.

I think if Angela has a nice waltz, classically styled (beautiful ballroom style frock, like Zara's from week 4, or the ones Amy used to wear, all twinkly lights for the background staging etc), I'm not too worried for her. If it's styled more like Angela R's last week, with an awful frock, I'll be disappointed. Poor Angela S has had some awful outfits so far so she's owed a nice one IMO.

Mollie had some awful ones too last year but I loved her Cha Cha Cha outfit (purple and gold) and I'm still disappointed the judges didn't pick that dance to be repeated in the final.

Basically, I'm a sucker for a nice frock!

Didn't know Ian Waite had become a pro on DWTS Australia. He is one of my all-time favourite pros and I really miss him on ITT. Glad he's still involved in the Strictlyverse. I still haven't forgiven them for ditching him from Strictly.

He's great. I loved him on ITT as well.

Not quite the same, but I thought Claudia Fragapane was robbed of a final spot by Ore. I loved her that year.

Though it's nice he's got a gig he should still be on ours really, what a shame ! I do think we've lost too many fan favourites

Not a fan of Tattoo either, whiny wailing crap. Can't see how it's going to be a good choice for an AT. Agree they need to leave out the backflips, cartwheels etc and make it very good and authentic

Ah... puppetgate. People on this thread have always disparaged the puppet dance, whereas I thought I had fond memories of it. Then last season I looked at it again for the first time since 2006, or whenever it was, and had to agree that, yes, it was rotten. Poor Colin. Definitely put him in the hall of fame with the others.
