I'm liking Angela R @TheShellBeach, plus I love Kai. I'm less keen on Angela S, so wouldn't mind if she goes after Zara.

I don't mean to be nasty but looking at other pictures of her she still looks quite Pete Burns!

I think after Zara goes (which surely will be Saturday if she ends up in the dance off?) things will be interesting.

There's a group of slebs who are fairly good, improving week by week but not in the league of people like Layton, Amanda, Ellie.

Krishnan, Adam, Annabel are probably the weakest technically.

Nigel is up and down like a tart's knickers as they'd probably say in Downton.

Angela R has been bloody amazing so far but dunno if she can keep it up.

Angela S, and to a lesser extent Bobbie both seem to be smiling not as far as their eyes. Bobbie I don't think has a clue why he's even there but just says yes to whatever he's offered. He's definitely suffering with the height thing. Vicky hates him 😂 and even in the VTs it's like they don't know what to have him talk about. (the VTs have been better this year, less shoehorning in of nans and random friends and "here's the chip shop I first tried curry sauce, SCD was on in the background and I've wanted to be on ever since" and more talking about the dance. ) The meditation stuff? What with Nigel and now Bobbie? Say what?

Angela S, as I said yesterday, is the one I just don't get. Not sure why. She's funny in the VTs, pleasant enough, competent enough. Dunno.

Outlier here. I was happy to see Eddie go. He was a one trick pony who didn't listen to what he was told every week and I found him intensely irritating. Zara has been listening to feedback and improving week on week. I don't think she has long to go on the show but I was pleased with the result last night.

You are probably right. I did think he danced better than Zara last night, but I think his natural rhythm gets in the way of him listening. He just dances to the music and gets carried away rather than doing the steps, and that's what the judges are meant to be looking at. I do think Zara is a bit out of her depth. But she's raised her profile and is now a 'documentary maker' instead of 'Love Island Star' so shes done what she set out to do!

I thought their dance was a bit boring last night. I do like her though. I forgot the dance immediately though

Anyone going to the tour in London this year? I have never been. But this year I enjoy quite a few slebs. What's deterring me is that I think Krishnan won't join the tour ( too busy with his day job) and the O2 is just too big a venue for dance. Probably will be miles away from the stage.

Thoughts from the weekend:

Nikita's excellent dancing has always been evident in the pro dances. He did a very hot rumba/AT thing with Carlos last season, I think to accompany a musical guest.

Anyway. Nigel and Katya I liked: stylish, dramatic, I didn't see/wouldn't know the mistakes.
Angela S sickly, twee. Craig said Carlos ran out of ideas at the end but, I'm afraid to say, I think the running about WAS Carlos's idea. I seem to remember some of his previous routines looking like that. Angela was much better in that punky jive than in girly ballroom.
I LOVE Krishnan. He's my official favourite. He's just a joy. Craig was a misery about him; he was stylish, entertaining, musical, in tune with his partner.
Ellie. Minority of one, but I didn't like it much (well, I enjoyed Vito). Just thought she lost tone and intensity as it went on.
Bobby was definitely wearing one of those long-john vests people in films about hardscrabble life in pioneer-era America always wear. I can't stand watching him; sorry, I know that's mean, but his face and manner are vacant and I find him too gangly and lanky. Maybe if he'd had Karen or Nadiya, someone taller and with more grit anyway.
Adam – cringe. Like someone's drama school graduation show.
Zara I didn't mind. She seems to really love it and be upset by her scoring. I think she's trying hard and I'm warming to her. I hope she has a breakthrough. I'm surprised to say this because I was a bit prejudiced against her being a Love Islander; more fool/snob me.
Eddie can only dance like he already dances. I think he's a little arrogant; long speech and that bit about how God put him on Strictly (or words to that effect).
He just did not pick up any Latin or ballroom technique. I'll miss Karen.
Really missed Amanda and Gio and hope she's back next week with something punchy. If it's a mental health thing and those fuckers hounding her on social media are at all implicated I'll be spitting feathers.

Oh, forgot Angela R and Annabel!
Angela R: Fab – proper music, proper outfits, AT feel, graceful, delicate, poised. Could have had more of an A-frame but I loved it anyway.
Annabel: still needs to loosen up a bit, but I loved it; thought it felt quite authentic; many flappers were surely aristos and a bit elegant and icy? Nice routine, great costumes, love her and Johannes together.

I’ve seen Angela S on a makeover programme and there’s something about her I just don’t warm to. I think Angela R has been well served by the dance choices and the choreography. Not sure how she’ll cope with something fast paced.

I expect Zara to go next week, in the dance off against Annabel, Adam or Angela S. She looks lovely, but she really isn’t improving and Graz can’t rely on swinging her around much more.

God, I forgot Layton and Nikita too!
I didn't think it looked like a CC ; it was clearly a salsa. It was really interesting; I thought it had street and balletic elements. Made me think a bit of West Side Story.
He's a huge ringer but it was a great dance. I think he'll get to the final and then voters will boot him out.

I feel for Annabel, she's only recently been widowed and was married for a long time. I hope this helps her, but I do feel it's a real challenge. JoJo is lovely, though, and I do like their partnership.

Amanda has withdrawn from Strictly.

Oh no - I hope she hasn't been hounded out by those with a vendetta against her. I was really enjoying her dances.

Not sure tbh. Some ppl are saying she posted an IG story about mental health and depression. Have only seen a new tweets but no concrete source yet.
