I thought I'd take inspiration from Shirley's word of the week. We're down to the last few pages of #7 and I had some spare time so thought I'd get prepared.

When Layton did that jump into splits last week, I did think, 'ah, bless, isn't it amazing what he's learnt in 4 weeks'

i hope Eddie doesn’t go.
the idea that Eddie should go because Karen looks done is awful, she is the professional so it’s her job.
I want to see Layton do ballroom and Angela R do a fast dance

But he's never done Ballroom and Latin Ida!

So obviously because the judges are scoring strictly on adherence to standard Ballroom and Latin competition moves his ability to do insane dance moves from other disciplines is no advantage whatsoever. No??

Layton looked really good in the wig. More hair suits him.

Well yes, but realistically he's not going to go much further and I really feel for her going through a split so publicly

I think he's better than Kara and Adam and Annabel

If Karen isn't up to it this series she should withdraw. Tough time for her but if she's taking the money she should be up to the job. Perhaps she'd be better off with some time out- being under public scrutiny constantly isn't easy, ever.

Krishnan isn't actually very good though and he's overmarked.

Ellie and Vito are my faves. Also voted for Nigel and Bobby.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but Nigel and David Bradley were both in the tv show Mount Pleasant.

It doesn't hurt. I used to be able to jump into the splits (and I was never a professional dancer).

Are you a man though Summer15coming? I imagine jumping into the splits is likely to be more painful for men due to their, er, equipment getting in the way?

I hadn't thought of that aspect!

I am rooting for Ellie and Vito all the way. He is divine with the most gorgeous smile (and chest!) and Ellie reminds me of previous short, compact brunettes like Louisa Lytton, Dani Harmer and Georgia May Foote who I really enjoyed watching (that sounds a bit weirdly niche but you know what I mean!).

Ellie and Vito are a great couple. He's so lovely and funny!

I voted Ellie and Vito because that paso was great and I like their partnership

I voted Krishnan because I just love his joy.
I also think that he has a great partnership with Lauren who seems lovely btw.

I voted Eddie because he needs the votes and Karen is great

I voted Angela S because I think she's under marked, same with Annabel and I liked both their dances.

Layton leaves me cold. He'll get to the final due to judges but won't get the public vote to win I think. The public likes a journey.

Oh I dunno, there have been contestants who have been great from the start and barely put a foot wrong and people have still voted for them. Harry Judd and Jay McGuinness for two. I don’t think a Leyton win can be completely ruled out.

I only saw the controlled splits because was shown in living room. God knows what she did in her dance class. I would have had to look away.
Anyway can’t wait for Halloween week, we are going to have a party tea. And watch, we are living the life here. 😆

I do wonder if sometimes and in some costumes the male dancers wear a dance belt (where the bits go up and in rather than down and dangling). They are what male ballet dancers wear. There was a dance that Anton did with Fiona Fullerton, now burned into my memory for all time, where it became clear that he would never wear such a thing.
