Just finished the show and catching up with the threads.

Love the following pairings:
Amanda and Giovanni
Nigel and Katya
Angela R and Kai
Annabel and Johannes

I have said this before, but Layton and Johannes would have been too cliched, and it wouldn't be fair for Johannes to have another same sex partner again, when other male dancers haven't. I think Nikita would probably help Layton reign in some of his flamboyancy when performing ballroom. He will be outstanding, no question about that but he almost certainly won't win.

Watching it a bit late - am a Strictly virgin so new to this!

But Craig dancing 😂- oh my word, he looks as stiff as a bookcase! So funny and (ironically) so straight, Has he a bad back?

Motsi, Shirley and Anton were all fine, and then Craig looked like something that was being shifted off a dock.

My 87 yr old mum just called me and said she is so excited to watch Angela R as she remembers her from hosting the 80s Come Dancing.
Those were the days, when the whole dance floor was filled with wafty peach chiffon 😂

I saw Nigel in Guys and Dolls in the West End and he definitely had the moves, I’m hoping he goes far.

Annabel looks like she’s going to be great, and so does Ellie.

I was expecting Zara to be much worse as she looked so uncoordinated when they were first introduced but she looked better in the group number.

I never remember the pairings till later on in the Show.

Bobby looks just like his mum. His smile was all her. Took me right back.

Love Annabel & Johannes pairing.

I’ve not seen bobby Frazier in anything but I feel like I’ve watched him grow up. I remember the pictures of him as a child not long after his mum died. He seems like a lovely lad.

Marking my spot, didn’t get a chance to watch live tonight due to child dramas but will catch up.

Craig suffers from osteoarthritis and has had a double hip replacement so it seems a bit cruel to mock him for his dancing now…

Leyton is a bit much for me, far too show offy (if that’s a word)

Think someone hates Kai and are making sure he’s not in the final, and in the last dance why oh why did they put Angela R in that too tight jumpsuit, a nice dress would have been more flattering, it was awful.

Luba always looks annoyed with her partners, so we will see how they get on.
Not sure on the partnership of Angela Scanlon and Carlos, think Graziano would have been better for her.
Wonder why Nadia didn't get a partner this season, such a shame.

Just finished on catch up-

-Wtf was Shirley wearing?! Why was she dressed as Big bird?

-Loved the Len tribute

-Les is so bad! Like most of the pairings this year. Think ProNikita was good choice for Layton over Jojo.

-Impressed with Annabelle, Amanda, Nigel so far

Craig was still pretty good after his hip replacements - though he was never the most flexible dancer - but he's seized up recently.

But it seems unfair to compare him with the other three anyway. They were all championship winning internationally competitive dancers. As I understand it Craig danced briefly as a chorus boy but his actual profession is as a choreographer.

I know I said this way back when he was announced but just to mention again that when Layton was in the Jamie tour he was running ticketed dance classes during the daytime!

I do take the point a PP made however that we’ll all be moaning when a non-dancer goes through on popularity rather than talent. We like something to moan about!

Having said my ringer bit, given that it’s the 328th series I was pleased to find I had actually heard of lots of the slebs this year.

I loved Anton in the judges dance. Motsi impressed me as well.

Also didn’t like Shirley’s dress, didn’t think the colour suited her.

Loved Angela, Angela and the comic/radio 1 presenter (don’t know his name, the one that called the judges Maintenance Engineers). Also the Krishna, the newsreader.

Yes the accent is uncanny!

Anton looked great in the dance. He’s really kept his fitness up.

I wonder why Nadiya was not paired up. She’s popular with viewers. I thought that Bobby might have suited her, with his model height.

Les will struggle. Very wooden.

I think that Jody’s fitness and his training regime experience might pull him through a few weeks.

Angela R and Kai will do well in ballroom I think. They have a classy, old-fashioned vibe that many viewers will find appealing.

I’d assumed that Zara was a reality show airhead but it seems she’s done some significant stuff. She came across as articulate and thoughtful.

Bury looks very nice.

If Les isn't the first one out something somewhere will have gone Very Wrong for someone.

Jody Cundy looked the next worst in the opening dance, and then perhaps Adam Thomas.

I had no idea till reading someone's comment above, that Bobby's mum was Jade Goody. Yes you can see the resemblance for sure. Reminds me how utterly brutal the tabloids were to her, misogyny they wouldn't get away with now.

Hello do any of you Strictly gurus know how long this series lasts please? And the date of the last episode? I am planning to go abroad on a weekend trip to a European Christmas market in mid December and want to go the week after Strictly finishes or is that Christmas weekend itself? I should know this by now but I can’t find it written anywhere to check the dates! Many thanks!
