I think social services got involved with Jade at one point and Shirley ended up looking after her. Can’t remember why Shabnam was deemed unfit but Shirley was actually very sweet in the end, helped her out and gave Jade back to her.

I don’t remember Jade being born or the actual ons that Shabnam had with Dean. But I do remember Jade being with a foster family, Shirley helping out and Shabnam getting her back and going off with her never to be seen again. I loved the Massouds. But most of the actors went on to bigger and better things

From a Google apparently the Shabnam that gave birth to Jade in the 00s was a different actress to the one that was with Kush in the 10s.

Don’t think I watched in the 00s so I don’t remember the original storyline. Do remember Shirley tracking down foster family. I think Shabnam was still crushed by Zaair (sp?) dying, so didn’t get custody?

I had to YouTube old EE clips to find the answers to all of this😭 Found an episode where Shirley is banging on the door of a run down house shouting she’s looking for her grand-daughter. She finds Jade inside wearing a breathing mask (so perhaps she inherited whatever respiratory pb killed Shirley’s other son).

Another clip where a very young Will tells Jade her dad is a rapist and she thumps him. I think Will is about 7 and played by the same actor today.

Final clip of Shabnam leaving with Jade. Shirley says I’ll be in touch (but never heard her mention Jade ever again lol) She got a Julia’s theme exit! Kush crying and trying to stop the taxi going. I think she had just found out he is the father of Stacey’s baby.

When we did ivf they tested dh for cf. he didn't have the gene so they didn't bother testing me

Where another clinic tested me first and I do carry /have the gene but as dh doesn't it's not possible for any of our children to have cf

I can't believe how stupid Keanu was tonight. Why didn't he just bring Albie straight back and say they had gone to the park?!? How is he going to explain the missing passport? Wth was he thinking?!?

Walford police are fairly dim and probably won't bother to go round the corner to find Albie or search Ken for his passport.
I agree that the Rocky story is boring, but Nish is playing a blinder as the menacing loan shark. Really hateful ( even if Rocky is his own worst enemy)

I had an 'aha' moment when Nish threatened Rocky he'd tell Kaffy about his gambling/debt! Remember when we were discussing the crimbo corpse and I said that the corpse must have a link to all of the 6 women? Could link Nish to Suki (abusive husband), Denise (the Ravi stuff), and Stacey (dodgy landlord/Eve and Suki), but couldn't work out a link between Linda, Shazza and Kathy, well I reckon we have the potential Kathy link now, maybe Cindy and Ian will wriggle out of their deal with Dean and Nish will team up with him then that'll be Linda, which just leaves Shazza, who he did sort of screw over with the Pub purchase? I really want it to be Nish as he's soooo nasty!

I'd love Nish to be the Christmas corpse!

Me and my husband had testing too. He has a niece with it, and a cousin of mine has 2 kids with it,. My husband is from Ireland and my dad and maternal grandparents were all Irish. Until about 30 or 40 years ago, it was common in Irish people as it wasn't a very diverse country, and especially 'way back when' there was more chance of you marrying your second or third cousin. Anyway the offshot of it was I'm a carrier but he isn't. It's a recessive genetic condition so both parents need to be carriers. If both parents are carriers,, the risks are
1 in 4 are at risk of CF
2in 4 are at risk of being carriers
1 in 4 will not have the condition nor be carriers

If only 1 parent is a carrier, there is a 50% chance children will be carriers
50% will not be carriers. Carriers do not generally have any issues healthwise, but I saw on Google recently that recent research has suggested carriers have a slight risk of digestive conditions.

We ended up with fertility issues so ended up ot having kids. My siblings have all got kids but despite knowing my result they did not have testing but all their kids are fine.

I remember when Shabnam was not coping and was considering giving Jade up, Shirley (and Buster) were looking for custody. Yeah right. Give a baby with a serious respiratory complaint which potentially could kill her to a couple of chain smokers.🙄

Nish is doing loan shark well but seems about right for what I know of him/loan sharks. Have to feel for Rocky or anyone in a similar position as gambling must be an easy slope to slide down and then into debt. Was interesting seeing his reaction with Kim to the car. Not sure she would drive after her ban is lifted.

It's done in it's usual EE kack handed way, but people do become reliant on wins and gamble more and more when on a losing streak. It is sad to see it happen to people, but it's an addiction like any other , plus Rocky is desperate too and Nish is enough to scare anyone.

I don’t know people who go to loan sharks though my best friend years ago knew someone who used them so I guess they’re around. In my local town you see the same people outside the local betting shop sometimes, say of an evening, which is sad as I know one of the men.

It's all bound to end in tears with Rocky and Nish :(
Nish isn't the forgiving type and he wants his pound of flesh.
