Tasha came last in the blind bake and her show stopper wasn’t impressive - surely they won’t keep her.

FawnDrench · 21/11/2023 21:11

Right decision

Cranecapers · 21/11/2023 21:11

So pleased Matty is through to the final!

Turmerictolly · 21/11/2023 21:11

Sad for Tash but it was the right decision I think. She is very talented.

longtompot · 21/11/2023 21:36

Think sadly Tash was the right one to go but I am so gutted for her. I really thought she was going to be in the final.

Speaking of the final, @cheshirecatssmile did you get to go to this? I just had a thought whilst watching with my dd and just wondered something. I'll ask depending on your answer 😉 (not a bad question btw)

BishyBarnyBee · 21/11/2023 21:36

I think that was fair, she did seem weaker overall. Matty dodged a bullet though, he has has a fair degree of luck to still be there, lovely as he is.

Odds on Josh to win but Dan could still pull it out of the bag on the day. I wasn't keen on the guitar, don't think fondant has any place on a Millefiore, but he is an outstanding baker so it could still be his!

Liked all the challenges this week and would happily have a go at (and eat) any of them.

Ellmau · 21/11/2023 21:42

Dan's mango, peach and raspberry financiers looked/sounded so delicious, I think my favourite bake of this series. Has he done them for you, @cheshirecatssmile?

Josh was a worthy star baker this week, and goes into teh final as the narrow favourite ahead of him, I think.

But we've seen before, everything is to play for in the final and any of the three of them could pull it off.

MustGetOutofBed · 21/11/2023 21:57

I'm so happy Matty is still there 😊
I have been saying for weeks that Josh and Dan would be in the final, but I thought Tasha would have made it too - so I guess one bad (or not so perfect) week can change everything!
Best of Luck to the 3 finalists, can't wait for next week!!!!

I hope not, i think she has been the weakest for a while, I would have been angry if they had kept her in not based on merit,as i think matty has more flair.

CheshireCat, I think the first you knew about Dan being on the programme was when your mum told you the week Episode 1 aired? I remember you saying you didn't normally watch it. So I'm guessing you didn't get to go to the final?

Are you hooked now? Will you be shouting at the telly next year with the rest of us, yelling "Rookie error, Dan would never have done that!". Or do you think it was just a one off year with Dan being such a central character?

HeadAgainstWall0923 · 22/11/2023 08:32

Tasha had a shocker of a week didn’t she 😢

I really felt for her but she knew she was the one who would be going to mentally I think she was prepared for it. I’m very disappointed for her but it was the right decision.

Josh’s Show Stopper looked phenomenal didn’t it? He had a great night.

I have a feeling that Josh will win, but if not it will definitely be Dan. I really like Matty but he always comes across as not taking it very seriously. He is however extremely funny and he has me laughing at most episodes 😂

DontBeAPrickDarren · 22/11/2023 08:48

On personality Matty is my winner. On baking it should probably be Josh on past performance. But I’d actually be happy with any of them, it’s been a good Bake Off year.

cheshirecatssmile · 22/11/2023 08:48

Morning folks

Well what a roll a coaster that was last night.
Went from edge of my seat to shouting get in son at the telly.
No I didn't go to the final , will ask who did. Probs the wife and my mum.
Not sure if I will watch next year. I'm not a telly person for shows like this
But it's been wonderful sharing the experience with everyone

My phone just about exploded last night when Dan got the hand shake!
Fellow colleagues who said they feel like their cheering on family.

Now really excited for next weeks finals
Who ever wins deserves it as all star bakers in my eyes

I wish Paul wasn't so rough when he's cutting the cakes. It's almost disrespectful....

I agree 😀

Fizbosshoes · 22/11/2023 09:06

LadyEloise1 · 22/11/2023 08:56

I agree 😀

I find it worse when he prods, pokes and squishes his finger into the cakes/bread etc !! But agree he cuts the cakes really aggressively!!🤣

I generally find it annoying though that a Paul handshake is the best accolade, why does Prues opinion or praise not count.

Fizbosshoes · 22/11/2023 09:09

Anyone want to wager when nan will first be mentioned or shown? As it's the final I think she might make the signature bake ....

#whataboutthegrandads

LadyEloise1 · 22/11/2023 09:26

No contestant has stood head and shoulders above the others in this competition.
I think the 3 into the final are deserving.
I'm conflicted who I want to win.
Rooting for @cheshirecatssmile brother Dan but Josh too is so good and as for Matty - what a smile.

Loved that Dan said he was holding out for a Prue fist bump! He has a bit of the Nancy Birtwhistle about him in that he has a degree of maturity/self confidence that means he's not totally craven in the face of Paul's self importance.

Being old enough to have lost parents and even a sibling, the Gran stuff has made us raise the odd eyebrow. However, Josh is younger than he looks (27 - same age as Tasha who presents as much younger) and actually, if gran was the person who encouraged him to apply and she died fairly recently, she will be very much in his thoughts throughout the process.

DontBeAPrickDarren · 22/11/2023 10:01

for a Prue fist bump

8 year old decided if it’s a Hollywood Handshake then this would be the “Prue Pump” 😆

cheshirecatssmile · 22/11/2023 10:08

Asked Dan , it was only his wife and sons who went to the final.
He said he had that many people to choose from it wouldn't of been fair.

He won't say what they have to bake next week.

This annoys me about the Hollywood handshake too.

Newestname002 · 22/11/2023 10:24

I often wonder how clean Paul Hollywood's hands are before he hands Prue her portion of each item to eat.... Has he washed them just beforehand? 🌹

TallulahG · 22/11/2023 10:38

I can't STAND the 'Hollywood handshake' and it's my least favourite part of Bake Off. Paul is so smug and looks so superior and all mighty when he does it. It's just a handshake, fuck off!

TallulahG · 22/11/2023 10:39

Oh and I was so sad to see Tasha go. Josh to win I think. I also find the Nan stuff quite sweet, they were obviously really close and I love that's he is comfortable to share that.

TheMurderousGoose · 22/11/2023 10:41

The Hollywood handshake is the WORST.

The way he proffers his paw like it’s some great prize.

Prize pillock.
