I watched the start of series 2 on (I think?) UKTV Gold on Sunday, and one thing I realised is that they had plenty of time to complete the tasks. Not excessively so, but not always throwing things at the cake in the dying seconds. There was still drama (a dropped cake) but it had much more of that gentle baking vibe.
I never watched series 1 or 2, started with 3, so delighted to find it.

I think I'll probably give it a miss this year. Matt Lucas was bad enough, proper fun sponge. Alison Hammond is bloody awful.

Ah, come on - surely you will watch it if your sibling is on it? If only because it is a massive achievement for him and you'd want to share that, surely?

This is my favourite programme, I Iook forward to it every year. I'm really disappointed that they put Alison in, I really can't stand her and it's not the type of programme where you can fast forward her bits. I have set the 1st episode to record and will make my decision from that whether to continue, if she starts that ridiculous laugh and screeching and taking over, that'll be it for me.
