Urgh I actually liked Cindy for a bit but they're reverting her to old Cindy. Why can't they allow characters to change and learn from their mistakes/past. You'd think witness protection may have mellowed her a bit. Also what's she been doing for the past 9 years?!

As for Peter I half expect him to go off and fight crime (suppose it's regular work unlike The Bay).

Cindy Jr lives in Germany with Liam (Bianca’s son) and her baby. I can’t remember who the baby’s father is!

Two bi-racial children with the same parents can look completely different (mine do). It can also skip a generation. Jade Goody’s grandfather was Black. I think this is reflected in her son who is currently on EE as he definitely looks of mixed heritage to me whereas she looked completely white to me.

Yes Kathy and Pete lived in a tower block with Ian. Pauline and Arthur and their kids lived with Pauline’s mother Lou Beale in the house where Kathy, Rocky and Bobby currently reside. It must at some time been bought from the council as I’m sure Lou didn’t own the house.

Thanks for that. In the flashback, there were two little girls going to meet their friend. Gabriella and both were obv mixed (like Gina is). It was confusing as one girl could have grown into Gina but the other little girl would not have grown into Anna.

I never thought Freddie was mixed either. I think my eyes/brain doesn’t distinguish.

I can’t remember Cindy Junior’s storyline at all.

Ah but if it’s a special occasion such as wedding etc often men ditch their usual shirts and wear cufflinks at least the ones I know do! So in EE land any of them could. This is a random thought but suppose we are all barking up the wrong tree and it’s not an older wrong un murdered with cufflinks but a younger one!

I can’t recall Cindy Jrs storyline either and agreed Freddie doesn’t look mixed, it’s only as I know of Jade’s heritage that I know he has bI racial blood in him.

It’s a sign of the times that most of the old school EE are long gone either dead or retired IRL. It used to be nice when Dot was around when they did the odd flashback episode with eg her and Ethel back in WW2 years. DB lives in Hackney and I worked for 6 years in Spitalfields and it’s shocking (nice in a good way but not nice in others!) how much of the old east end has gone. Progress I guess.

In a sense I wish they’d not try to link characters back to various families on the square but just have new characters of their own with their own backgrounds. Does everyone have drama? I think I’ll actually miss Whitney when she goes as though I find her a slightly pedestrian boring character she’s more normal than the others. And the other Carter kids, they barely seem to come and see their dear old mum L and grandma do they?

They rarely get the casting right for mixed race characters, it’s not just in EE. No way could Anna and Gina be children of the same parents in real life.

Molly Rainford is actually mixed race you just have to Google her parents (who also supported her on Strictly). Her Dad used to be a footballer.

I know she’s mixed race but to me it’s clear her parents wouldn’t be the same ethnicities as the parents of the actress who plays Gina.

Gina even overacted the dancing in Peggy’s. No way would a young girl dance like that

When my daughter was born I was momentarily stunned. I’m Black, partner is white and DD just looked completely white. She looked like that for a while and very slowly changed. DS came along 2 years later - completely different and darker complexion. To this day people do not believe he is half white. DP jokes if it wasn’t for the fact DS is the image of his grandad (DP’s dad, DS basically looks like a Black version of him😭) he would be seeking a paternity test😂

Yes I think so but the reason I brought it up was that the two little girls in the flashback were identical - both Gina’s colour. Cindy said something about going to Gabrielle’s and I assumed one of the little girls was Gina and the other her friend Gabriella. It was something George said then about Gina and Anna had gone to Gabrielle’s that I realised one of the little girls was supposed to be Anna.

Cindy (or the girls either) don’t seem to feel the cold In London after being in Spain for years. I’ve family in Spain and in the hottest days of summer, they wear long sleeves or a light coat when home!

The whole Spain thing is weird. Were the girls born there? If so surely they wouldn’t have those accents. Gina sounds straight out of Sarf London.

The girls would have to attended a Spanish school or an international one ( which were private when I lived there for two years in the 2000s)
If it was a state Spanish one , they should at least be able to speak ' pigeon Spanish ' or have an accent of some kind. Unless Cindy Rose home schooled them, but then they had 9 years without her..
George had a business there , surely he could speak some ? Even if he wasn't fluent.
