The Emmerdale plane crash was the first big storyline I remember clearly. I would've been 10.

The Archers theme tune. Dad used to record the omnibus for Mummy while we were at church, so it was the soundtrack of Sunday lunchtime.

Watching neighbours on holidays- Helen daniels, Jim, Harold, Madge, Paul. Also another one is my dad saying he can’t believe people watch people being miserable in eastenders for fun but I need to google when eastenders even first came out

The Ken/Deirdre/Mike Barlow love-triangle in Coronation Street. Also 'Who Shot JR' in Dallas - we didn't watch Dallas but everyone was talking about it, it was as 'viral' as a thing could get in pre-internet days!

Does anyone remember Family Affairs, the channel 5 soap? I watched it religiously and vaguely remember it ending with basically every single cast member getting blown up in a boat explosion?

Watching the first few Coronation Street episodes, and my mum's delight at hearing northern accents on the television! Bit of a novelty then.

Den and Dr Legg breaking into that old chaps house to find him dead. Ie; the first Eastenders.

My dad yelling 'turn it off' every time the coronation music started... so never saw it until I left home. I remember Toyah and Spider getting together.

Benny from Crossroads, being depicted as "a bit slow" which would not be acceptable nowadays.

These are making me feel so old, I remember when it was Emmerdale Farm and the actress who played Dolly changing.

My mum was a corrie fan, I remember one character had a garage and was advertising for a mechanic, only one person applied and it was a woman, and he couldn't turn her down as the Sex Discrimination Act had just come in.

I'm officially an old woman so I remember seeing Coronation Street in B&W with Elsie Tanner and Ena Sharples having a ding dong in the street.

Haughty Annie Walker looking down on Hilda Ogden but graciously letting her get away with some minor mistake as it gave HO a reason to feel good.

I don't watch any of the soaps these days.
