I’d forgotten about Dallas & Dynasty. We were allowed to stay up late to watch them. Very inappropriate looking back on it!

My mum used to watch the Brookside omnibus while doing her ironing. She really fancied Barry .

I remember Gail being pregnant with Sarah

I remember both Eastenders and Brookside starting.

Loved the early years of neighbours and home & away too.

Eastenders - Mark getting AIDS - first time I’d ever heard of it

Cathy being raped in Eastenders and asking my dad what rape was. He said it was when a man hurts a woman, but I knew he was lying and it was bad because of his awkward reaction to my question.

Deirdre Barlow crying over the top of the credits on Coronation Street because Ken had cheated on her.

Vague memories of Mavis in Coronation street. Martin having an affair with Carmel. Jim and Liz fighting.Curly and Raquels wedding. All under ten.

I'm still traumatised by my first episode of Casualty! I didn't have a TV growing up so had never seen anything like it. I went to a friends house for her bonfire night party and after the fireworks everyone sat down to watch Casualty. This particular episode had a caravan roll down a hill with the people inside getting tossed around like rag dolls and ending up pretty bloody! I found it horrifying! And also alarming that my friends little brother who must have been 3 years younger than us was completely unbothered by it.

If anyone knows the episode I'm talking about please let me know!! I've tried to find it so I can re-watch it as an adult and be reassured by the terrible acting and obvious tomato ketchup! All I know is that it aired around bonfire night somewhere between 1996-2001 - not a lot to go on!

I remember 'Miss Diane' and Benny, Sandy, Meg and Adam in Crossroads, but don't remember the storylines.

The first storyline I took any notice of in Coronation Street was the Mike and Deirdre affair. Up until then it was just a bunch of people talking about boring stuff as far as I was concerned! My mum was always glued to it but she couldn't have told you what was going on. Still can't figure that one out!

I remember the exciting first episode of Eastenders. I was about 17 and we were all talking about it! It seemed so edgy and 'real' compared to Corrie.

I only ever see the odd soap episode at my mum's now after being a huge fan for years. I stopped watching when my eldest was a toddler - so 14 years ago.

I can remember Annie Walker running the Rovers in Coronation Street with Betty cooking hotpots and Stan and Hilda with their lodger Eddie

My mother watching Peyton Place, couldn't tell you anything about it, but remember having to be quiet while it was on!

My massive crush on Mike Baldwin I was about 7

Kevin and Sally meeting in Corrie, I think he drove through a puddle and splashed her. She was a very cool 80s chick! Also Gail giving birth to Nick, possibly in a car?
There was a storyline about Gail maybe having an affair which I didn’t really understand.
I would have been about 7, funny how it used to be totally normal for young kids to watch soaps.

I remember my mum watching Emmerdale Farm when it was on at lunchtimes before it went peak time.

Oh and The Sullivans, an Australian soap which was also on during the day.

Didn’t she electrocute herself by sticking bare wires into a socket trying to dry her hair?

I remember Elsie Tanner looking all glamorous for her job in Miami Modes, stubbing a fag out while telling son Dennis off for some transgression.
Ena Sharples with her hairnet, wearing the same coat year in year out, her sharp tongue took no prisoners.

Sinbad in brookside having his legs cut off whilst trapped in a hole - or something like that. I was very young and it was utterly terrifying! Not tea time telly at all!

Lucy Robinson (the first actress) in Neighbours running away, being found down some hole in the ground and being temporarily blind.

I remember Alf and Audrey Roberts in the corner shop, Bet Lynch ad the barmaid and Annie Walker in charge at the Rovers.
I watched the first Brookside, much excitement over a new tv channel.
I watched the first Eastenders with my boyfriend, now dh.
Our family were never into Emmerdale. - but I loved El Dorado and the even shorter lived Albion Market, anyone remember that?

Emmerdale Farm with Dad and the Sugdens. One of them came home after being away all fancy like and he struggled to cope. Then Mr Wilks' house burned down and he lived in the Woolpack with Amos. They argued a lot.

Coronation street - Ken Barlows first wife died by electrocution - I think it was a hair dryer.

I was very small - I liked crown court too.
