I didn't watch it years ago so not really sure who everybody is,, apart from the main characters. (I miss Ashley )

HurdyGurdy19 · 11/12/2023 17:28

That was awful, watching Cain and Debbie. And then her covering up for him. He did show a little remorse and vulnerability when he was trying to explain why he behaved like he did, and that he can't help himself. But not enough to excuse anything he did. He really is a vile character (at this point - I think he redeemed himself a bit in more recent times)

JaneJeffer · 11/12/2023 18:03

The acting was so good though

He was awful, not just hitting her but the number of times he called her a tart and a slapper and whatever else... and even though he seemed vulnerable at the end, him saying 'we'll be fine as long as we keep it to ourselves' or something along those lines seemed so abusive as he was basically saying to keep quiet! And poor Debbie, defending him. Made me realise how much he changes over the years... could never imagine him acting that way towards Sarah. But yes, agree that the acting was really good

RaraRachael · 12/12/2023 20:22

Debbie was a good character back then. Pity she turned into the miserable faced girl later on,

JaneJeffer · 13/12/2023 13:52

It started early and I missed the first half

Good storylines ,,

RaraRachael · 13/12/2023 17:08

SO much better than the current tripe.

JaneJeffer · 13/12/2023 17:17

The two are incomparable

Does anyone know when this Steph and Alan storyline will stop? I’m finding it horrible

It's awful isn't it, Steph is such a cow! I think Emily might be a bit suspicious now though.

RaraRachael · 13/12/2023 19:33

I'm hoping Emily raises the alarm but Steph seems to fob everybody off and somehow they believe her.
Agree it's horrible. Could never stand Steph even before all this.

No. I wasn't watching Emmerdale when it first aired. But I'm hoping it is soon, as it is a horrible storyline - although I suppose it was (and is) an awareness story, so had a purpose.

I think Emily's slowly putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. Especially over the doseage on the bottle of pills, so hopefully she'll sound the alarm.

JaneJeffer · 14/12/2023 20:57

I didn't get to watch today. Anything major happen?

Poor old Alan has finally worked out what stephs up to. He spat out his pills and watched her selling his motorbike. Managed to get down the stairs and to the woolpack in his pajamas! Emily, paddy and Marlon took him home but wouldn't believe him about steph. Emily is a bit suspicious though so I reckon she'll save him! It all kicked off in the church with Frank! Charity and Tom came back from holiday and she's suspicious about cain thumping ethan. Just a normal day in a quiet Yorkshire village really! 😁

JaneJeffer · 14/12/2023 23:47

Thanks @JackieQueen

Poor Alan Sad

It's getting boring now. How many more people's eyes can Steph pull the wool over.
I presume the hospital did a blood test as they said no alcohol was involved in his fall. Wouldn't they have show up the vast amount of drugs in his system?

RaraRachael · 18/12/2023 14:25

Got through that first episode in record time due to fast forwarding through all the Dingle shenanigans

JaneJeffer · 18/12/2023 14:29
