Just watch the episode. I heard "save home".

Save hope would mean 'don't lose hope'

It makes more sense in the situation it was used in

AGoodDayForSomebodyElseToDie · 29/07/2023 00:08

You would think the people who upload clips ahead of the episode to the BBC Casualty page would probably check their closed captions - they seem to think it’s “save hope”.

I can’t even begin to fathom how you think “save home” would make more sense, to be honest. I presume it’s a typo for “safe home” which is a weird non-sequitur but would at least have the advantage of some prophetic irony.

I'm unsure if you're referring to me.
I didn't say 'save home' made more sense. I said the opposite, that 'save hope' made more sense.

MyTruthIsOut · 29/07/2023 00:18

“Save home” makes no sense whatsoever.

”Safe home” might make sense but “save home” is just nonsense 😂

It was definitely “Save hope”.

No, the poster above you, the OP, suggests “save home” and questions what “save hope” would mean.

I’m agreeing with you, and posting the corroborating evidence (Grin) from the social media clip.

purpleme12 · 29/07/2023 00:21

Oh ok. 🤣 👍

AnImaginaryCat · 29/07/2023 04:39

Yes, was a typo for safe home.

I mean, while I've never heard "save hope" used as an alternative to "don't lose hope" but it makes more sense than "save home". Even Charlie's mumbling isn't that bad 😄.

I've seen last weeks but think maybe o had a little nap mid way

Don't R.E.M. fi telling G to lie

Nor iian and faiths wee

Can someone explain please. Thanks

purpleme12 · 29/07/2023 16:16

Fionn told Gethin she'd take him to Switzerland as long as he didn't tell Jan.

Ian wanted Faith to wee as he'd read it helps with bringing trust in relationship when recovering from drug addiction. That's what he said.
She in the end gave him a patient's wee, not hers.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/07/2023 19:47

Thanks @purpleme12 so she is def still using

bizzey · 29/07/2023 19:53

Faith was using in the toilet just before Ian asked for the wee test.
She used a young girl patient wee .
But unknown to faith the girl had just given birth earlier .

Faith knew the girl was pregnant, she was looking after her when she admitted it.

She took the sample before she knew that the girl had been pregnant.

Re the Donna thing. Wouldn’t police look at tyre tracks and see she veered into the other lane?

MyTruthIsOut · 30/07/2023 08:46

I agree about looking at skid marks on the road, and not that I’m an expert I would have thought there’d be some damage
to her tyres too that would indicate skidding and an emergency stop as opposed to her having just pulled over like she told the police.

I was actually really surprised that Donna lied.

I mean I can understand why she did, out of fear for herself, but the character traits of such dishonesty and manipulation were never ones that seemed to be applicable to her character.

I was so hoping that she’d tell the truth at the end, and I really do believe she was going to, but the interruption of her daughters probably made her think “what would happen to them of I ended up in prison” which I can understand too.

I don’t think she’ll come clean now.

SoupDragon · 30/07/2023 09:13

I thought about the tyre marks too.

AGoodDayForSomebodyElseToDie · 30/07/2023 11:56

I felt for Donna - I think the lying was out of frustration about how aggressive and unpleasant the young lad and his drunk mother were. They shouldn’t really have asked for their versions in front of the other party - the police made it very hard for Donna to admit she’d fallen asleep, by asking what happened in front of the boy.

Still, when she inevitably comes clean (or gets found out, but I hope the former), and loses her license, she can go back into the lift share with Dylan and they can play Robbie Williams on his archaic Land Rover cassette player to their hearts’ content.

If Donna comes clean and the woman later dies then Donna will have a lot more to worry about than just losing her driving licence….. 😬

Aye but we can be fairly confident Donna is going to be in a good chunk of the next era of Casualty (from the indications of future storylines in the teasers / clip videos promoting the upcoming episodes), so obviously that can’t happen. It’s Casualty - they aren’t bound by the constraints of realism 😀

ChrisPPancake · 30/07/2023 20:00

I wonder if next week the scriptwriters will remember the young ones have a dog now?

SoupDragon · 31/07/2023 07:40

That dog will be smuggled into work due to a lack of doggy day care. It will live in the Play Room, slowly absorbing medical knowledge, before it successfully diagnoses a tension pneumothorax and an ectopic pregnancy during a tense segment when it has vanished from the room.

MyTruthIsOut · 31/07/2023 11:19

And he might even find the time to change a few light bulbs inbetween seeing his patients 😂

spiderlight · 31/07/2023 12:55

Talking of dogs, where is Dervla? She hasn't been seen or mentioned for years :(

onlynotafan · 31/07/2023 13:16

Can I ask what is the point of Charlie ? All I have recently seen him do is fluff about with papers and have quick brief conversations with the other medics. Hardly a days work now is it lol
