Counting down to the long awaited day!

Presence of Dylan really improves an espoiside for me.

I like Rash too though they seem to be writing him rubbish story lines recently and changing the character like the did to Ethan.

I'm liking Donna and the two new female nurses also. (Not really too gone on the male ones - though Barney Whatsit's character could have potential.)

Dylan seems to have lost all his sex appeal somehow 😢

I liked the ‘outing’ of the cocky male nurse as I know I had stereotyped him to be a guy who loved himself and slept with loads of women and never called them again 😂 It was a nice surprise / twist.

It was nice having an episode without Faith in it!!!!

Shelllc130 · 11/06/2023 16:04

Dylan is a great character.

I'm So behind. Havnt read replies yet. On 27 May episode so 4w behind

It's turning into the Jodie show now. What don't these writers understand about balanced writing? Although they did show us an actual accident today so bonus points for actually doing your job!

MyTruthIsOut · 18/06/2023 15:40

Does anyone else find Ffion really irritating?

I’ve always disliked her character.

How cringy was Charlie at the end!!!

I don’t like Jacob’s character but I did enjoy seeing his 6 pack! Yes please!!!

Hellocatshome · 18/06/2023 16:35

Ffion needs to get off her high horse, she also needs to leave Jan once and for all, she is constantly leaving her then taking her back.

Charlie's acting at the end was as if he reads this thread and thought he would prove us right. He barely moved.

daffodilandtulip · 18/06/2023 21:15

I think ffion is miserable and controlling. I don't understand her being with Jan, they are so different. And completely irrelevant and I have no reasoning, but their house doesn't seem the kind of house they would have either.

So true.
and they really haven’t bothered to give Rida a character at all.

Don’t mind Ffion. I think she puts up with a hell of a lot. I wouldn’t have him in my house!

what was the point of that bit with Charlie? To show he could stand up without holding on to something for support? He managed that, but actual acting was still missing.

ForestLilac · 19/06/2023 00:06

The actor is 75 years old, is the character also 75? I’m guessing not?

mayorofcasterbridge · 19/06/2023 00:12

Leave Charlie the fuck alone. He's an institution!! I don't get all the criticism of him?

I'm always prepared to suspend my disbelief though and just enjoy Casualty for what it is.

TrashyPanda · 19/06/2023 06:47

Criticism of highly paid man who cannot act. Cannot even look someone in the eye for more than 3 seconds so always looks shifty.

who looks so frail and doddery there is no way he could make it through an ED shift

writers keep telling the viewer how wonderful he is, but there is no actual evidence of this. Personal favourite was Big Mac saying he was “the beating heart of the ED”. Ridiculous

Spidey66 · 19/06/2023 11:30

I can't work out Rida. She's clearly a practising Muslim but doesn't think twice about going out drinking and partying with Jodie? Have I missed something?

I’ve you’ve missed it then I’ve missed it too.

Maybe the BBC thinks it is challenging the country’s stereotypical views of what it means to be a Muslim? But it’s just causing me to feel confused.

I would be very interested to hear the opinion of someone who is Muslim too because I’m not sure if the storyline would be found offensive or liberating?

SoupDragon · 19/06/2023 12:16

Is she drinking alcohol?

SgtCatherineCawood · 19/06/2023 13:06

I haven't seen this weeks yet (I like to read on here first to see how bad it is 🤣) but I thought they'd mentioned her not actually drinking on the nights out when she first came into it

Spidey66 · 19/06/2023 17:20

Ok I must have missed that.

SgtCatherineCawood · 19/06/2023 17:22

I think they did @Spidey66. It's possible I am completely wrong/made it up/dreamt it 🤣

MoreRainbowsPlease · 19/06/2023 19:53

She did mention in one of the first episodes when they were talking about going out that she didn't drink. I think she's happy to party, just without the alcohol.

HobnobsChoice · 19/06/2023 19:59

Very disappointed they didn't have to "activate the major haemorrhage protocol" this week. It's been said in every single episode in the last couple of months. Last week it was activated before the title theme.

Not sure why Jodie got a debrief after almost being shot but apparently nothing after a bomb went off (that caused major burns to someone but no damage to the hospital). I'm still watching but really am questioning my life choices here. I want more chainsaws and changing lightbulbs in copper wellies!

Fair enough....missed that bit...explains a lot!

I love it when they activate a major hemorrhage protocol as it always seems to achieve nothing but sounds good. I might use it at work next time the photocopier runs out of paper.

I assume he is meant to be bi-sexual
