Semi Final one looks like the one to watch and the harder one to qualify from.

For all the nerds the big five and Ukrainian have had their draw for the Grand Final:
In the first half are France, Spain and Italy (positions to be decided on Friday)
In the second half are Germany (position to be decided), Ukrainian 19th and UK 26th (confirmed positions).

Very much looking forward to it. It's a proper event in our household every year.

Dd and I are lucky enough to be going to the Wed eve preview show for the 2nd semi final. We didn't try for final tickets as still want to watch that at home with the family.

I can't watch live tomorrow but will when I get home.

I am really looking forward to this. Eurovision has taken over the local news a bit in recent weeks (I'm in Manchester).
I have heard some of the entries, I haven't quite settled on a favourite yet

Out of this set, I really like the Portuguese entry and Serbia's. Ireland is going to be eliminated. It's terribly bland.

Serbia's last year was totally bonkers . I started off thinking 'wtf' and loved it by the end!may have been the drink.

Excited! Eurovision is a huge event in our house. DD(14) is the biggest Eurovision geek ever and has been counting down since Christmas.

My dd (19) loves it too.
Serbia is still bonkers. I can't describe it at all. It just keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. Bonkers, but in a good way. And catchy. The staging should be interesting.

Absolutely @Raahh ! I think it will do well. There are some good entries this year with relatively few duds.

I'm so excited! Eurovision is literally my favorite time of year.

My favorite in semi 1 is Serbia, such an edgy and creative song/performance. Also rooting for Norway, Finland, Croatia, Moldova. It's a really strong semi so I'm expecting a few surprises regarding the qualifiers!

I'm not going to say much because some might not want spoilers and I also don't know how it will translate on screen but the crowd were going wild for certain of the acts.

We also saw France, Germany & Italy perform last night and it was fantastic seeing how certain things were achieved.

It's anyone's guess.
It's like a donkey derby.
Any of the nags could win and quality usually isn't a guiding principle.

That's true. There's something for everyone. Also love France and Germany's entries.

My eurovision geek daughter (she watches each countries selection show) says it's very difficult to call this year. She has her personal favourites but because the semi final results are 100% public with no jury vote this year it is much harder to predict who the public will vote for.

Oh yes. France's entry is absolutely divine!

I love France. I have heard she fluffed it last night though from a friend.

This is where the big five not doing all the semi performances have a disadvantage (she performs for semi 1 rehearsal and not the afternoon show today and I don't think they do a live performance tonight either - it's prerecorded for TV).

So will be interesting to see how it goes on Saturday.

France was third in the betting until today, but has dropped behind Ukraine today so it looks like there may be some truth in what our friend has said.
