Semi Final one looks like the one to watch and the harder one to qualify from.

For all the nerds the big five and Ukrainian have had their draw for the Grand Final:
In the first half are France, Spain and Italy (positions to be decided on Friday)
In the second half are Germany (position to be decided), Ukrainian 19th and UK 26th (confirmed positions).

Sort of... May / May not be around.

Guests arrive tomorrow. Then partying Thursday afternoon. Hoping to be back for 8pm but may have to be sociable!

Every time I hear Norway, I like it more. I had thought my over the top cheering was to do with Ireland missing out but actually I'm really glad Norway are through.

I'm largely ok with the semi finals results, though disappointed to see Latvia out.

We had tears this morning from DS ages 10 as Latvia was his favourite.

Starlight, I loved Latvia too. Tell him he has great taste.

Latvia's song was a really interesting entry, definitely a loss to the overall diversity of the final.

I thought it reminded me a bit of Radiohead/Thom Yorke.

Still prefer Norway though. And now I can’t get Loreen out of my head. 🤯

Latvia definitely came across better and with more energy in the arena.

I loved the Latvian entry too (the acoustic version is just beautiful), and agree that it had something of the Radiohead/ Thom Yorke (personal favourites) vibe about it.

I'm listening to all the ESC songs on Spotify, and not come across any real 'bloopers' yet. Think the standard is very high this year, although I'm not sure many are 'stand out' songs.

I wasn't over-struck by the Portuguese entry or the Czechian one. The Serbian and Croatian entries were bats but can see why they got votes. Ditto Finland.

I don't think the Portuguese performance was very good last night. She got off to a shaky start. I'm glad it got through.
