I have to admit I would feel weird having a man I say I hate in my house for one day let alone 3

So I can kind of see where Leyton is coming from

How can she say she hates him then agree to have him living there for 3 days

I completely see Laytons pov.
I don't think it was a moral issue . It was personal but Layton didn't want to be that confrontational with Harrison. And was hurt that Mel changed her view so quickly.
He used the line about morals and that's come back to bite him.
He is pig headed and infuriating. But so is Mel.

Supertillypops · 20/04/2023 21:02

I feel the producers persuaded Mel to change her mind about Harrison moving in.

Supertillypops · 20/04/2023 21:04

Did any other couples do a direct swap or was it just these four?

browneyes77 · 20/04/2023 21:11

Supertillypops · 20/04/2023 21:04

Did any other couples do a direct swap or was it just these four?

It was as follows:

Duncan & Evelyn
Alyssa & Cam
Lyndall & Ollie
Mel & Harrsison
Layton & Bronte
Tahnee & Rupert

So it was only Mel & Layton that did a direct swap with another couple (Harrison & Bronte)

FFS Cam you have this incredible warm, kind, funny woman who looks like a cross between Kate Hudson and Blake Lively, and you’re choosing work?

No wonder he has always been single, how does he think any relationship will work around the remote life he is choosing?

He will wait till he’s older and less physically able then try for a wife

browneyes77 · 20/04/2023 21:21

Still trying to understand why Cam even bothered coming on this show.

Rummikub · 20/04/2023 21:30

He was very hurtful to Lyndall when saying he would move (for the right person)

Rummikub · 20/04/2023 21:30

He was very hurtful to Lyndall when saying he would move (for the right person)

And everyone saw it.

Harrison tried to negatively comment on it, by Evelyn shut him down real quick 🤣🤣

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 20/04/2023 21:39

Do you guys think CAM actually doesn't realise what he said?

I sort of think he is so naive that he didn't realise what he said

That basically Lyndall wasn't a good enough wife to him for him to give up living in the bush for

SinisterBumFacedCat · 20/04/2023 21:51

Harrison spend 90% shaking his head, sighing, looking at the ground (is he reading his lines under the table?) and sounding a lot like Phil Mitchell deflating

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fS3U_AraWfI

Harry Hill - TV Burp - Phil Mitchell Deflating

Is it me, or is Phil Mitchell deflating?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fS3U_AraWfI

Rummikub · 20/04/2023 22:15

I guess he could be that naive. But he’s not even willing to be open to different ways.

Rummikub · 20/04/2023 22:17

He was asked if instead of flying back into Darwin he could go to Perth Instead. That couldve been some sort of compromise- but he said no!

toodlesofoodles · 20/04/2023 22:28

Bluetrews25 · 20/04/2023 20:48

I could actually see Mel and Harrison together. Briefly.

I said to DH last night they could have easily hate fucked 🤣

toodlesofoodles · 20/04/2023 22:32

Ollie is hands down the most switched on, funniest person in this ixperiment

Floofydawg · 20/04/2023 22:35

Cam is punching.

Ollie & Tahnee just get cuter every day.

Rupert is getting more handsome by the day.

What's happening with 'I Have A Child' and Dunc? All that agro seems to have been swept under the carpet.

Bronte & Harrison need to fucking go now. There is no amount of Le Crueset in the whole world that's going to deal with those two.

That's my take on tonight's events.

The manufactured drama really annoys me.
I say it every series (but I still watch...) What I want from the programme is to watch the couples' relationships with each other develop and grow - or not. I'm not interested in this fake, manipulated, entertainment.
I want to see whether the couples can work through their challenges and incompatibilities. I want to see experts who actually advise and counsel the couples and give them strategies on how to deal with difference and conflict. Not ixperts who sit there pretending they don't know what's going on; who preside over cheating, abuse and gas lighting AND SAY NOTHING ABOUT IT.
Every series I ask WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE IXPERTS??????

This, this, and more this.
I’m sure in one (earlier, less sensationalised) series the ixperts did used to go in and actually offer individual couples ixpert advice and counsel (given they are meant to be qualified after all). Not what we’ve seen this series - ie vibrators and prostrate massage. How helpful is that, when you’ve got serious headfuckery going on.

MaggieFS · 20/04/2023 22:46

I'm getting quite bored by Harrison's same old same old behaviour. There's barely anything being shown of stuff he's not involved in.

determinedtomakethiswork · 20/04/2023 23:18

@toodlesofoodles I think Harrison was hinting about that. He said they talked about a lot of things that they'd agreed not to share with other people. I think he was pretty well suggesting something was going on. I can't understand why they needed to spend three days together. What did they do all the time? Did they really not bump into the others? Why would it take three days to get someone else's opinion when you could do it in a couple of hours?

dapsnotplimsolls · 20/04/2023 23:21

Just caught up - I don't think Cam actually realised the implication of what he was saying, git. As I've said before, Layton and Mel need some proper counselling to learn how to get past these arguments and move on. Bronte at the Commitment Ceremony? Who'd have thunk it?

MelsMoneyTree · 20/04/2023 23:35

I don't really believe that Cam's colleagues are away for six months with no contact. Satellite phones exist and cover all the NTs fgs.I hope the experts call him out. Just as Dan wasted Sandy's chance and Shannon wasted Caitlin's; Cam has wasted Lyndall's.

Really strange to see people on social media falling yet again for Harrison's bullshit and suggesting he got together with Mel. She wouldn't go near him. Quite depressing to see that if women follow the parameters of a TV programme, there will be people feeding the fallacy that beautiful, accomplished women are just waiting for the opportunity to be with abusive men - it's an incel's fantasy.

tothelefttotheleft · 21/04/2023 00:10

Honeyroar · 20/04/2023 20:09

Cam looks like Miss Piggy with his hair flowing onto his pink shirt.

His hair needed a good wash!

Womencanlift · 21/04/2023 06:53

I think Cam’s mum has been in his ear this whole time.

happinessischocolate · 21/04/2023 07:44

Whilst I don't believe anything happened during the couple swap, Mel definitely doesn't hate Harrison anymore.

Personally I think she's the problem during an argument, not him. He was explaining to others why he had a problem with couple swap and Mel was laughing at Harrison's keys in the bowl remark.

She then talks over him and escalates it when he's still trying to explain. She seems to think that supporting someone just involves saying "I support you"

Layton has never lived with anyone before, he's struggled to adapt to living with Mel, of course he's not then going to want to move in with Bronte.

Bluetrews25 · 21/04/2023 10:37

Anyone else think that Mel's tears and 'hysterical sobbing' seems a bit fake and put on?
