New film dropped today and I’m watching it now.

Honestly watching behind fingers at some points and I feel physically sick to the stomach.

It’s about two girls being trapped at the top of an incredibly high tower so I guess the warning here will be, if you have a major fear of heights…be warned.

I didn’t…but yeah I’m not so keen on going up anything any time soon

It was great!!

So...the vulture,.did she eat it!? Wouldn't that make her violently unwell?

Probably but I think if you’re torn between starvation and raw vulture, you would pick the vulture

Eh? Yeah? I watched the entire thing

Something you said just made me wonder if you'd missed why they were up there, doesn't matter, I was just going to say why.

im begetarian, but even 30 odd years ago when I ate meat, the bird would have been safe 🤮I just could not.

looking how she recovered though🤔

Abra1t · 09/03/2023 20:06

I am curious about the rescue. It would have to be a helicopter but surely manoeuvring it so a rescuer could be lower would be impossible with the tower itself in the way of the blades?

Why lower?

The rescuer would be higher to trow her a line and a harness.

Abra1t · 09/03/2023 20:15

She’s on the satellite dish, so still over, what, 1500 feet up when rescued? How would they get to her from below? How would they climb up without ladders that tall?

Soubriquet · 09/03/2023 20:23

Either a harness would have been lowered, or someone would have been winched down to her.

How long did her phone charge last though 😂😂

That's what I said!! 🤣

Yellowsubmarineunderthesea · 09/03/2023 20:38

Watched it last night and thought it a load of rubbish tbh. Laughed outright sat so many implausible parts but especially loved the way the drone got smashed by the truck 🤣
It was such a copy of the underwater movie too 🙄

FrostyFifi · 11/03/2023 13:21

The movie was made for 3 million which is pretty impressive

They clearly didn't use any of that to consult any actual climbers. DH and I were pissing ourselves.
Did enjoy the climb up the shonky rusty tower though.
I don't think I'd be close to hungry enough to chomp into a scabby vulture after just a couple of days either.

JMSA · 11/03/2023 18:30

I loved it but JESUS, so many questions:

  • I know nothing about climbing, but don't climbers have water bottles they attach to their bodies, so that they can sip on the go??
  • the rucksack was giving me major anxiety, or more specifically, their way of carrying it Grin Why did they only carry it by one strap, instead of round their body?
  • only one bottle of water between them, really?? No energy bars, no antibacterial gel for climbing a rusty old tower, no first aid kit and no sunscreen. Unless I missed something and everything except one water bottle fell out the bag (they only had one from the very start)?Confused

I get that it was only supposed to be a day trip, but COME ON!!!

JMSA · 11/03/2023 18:31

Oh, and they didn't tell anyone at the hotel where they were going, and to raise the alarm if they didn't come back by X time Angry

Belindabelle · 11/03/2023 18:38

Right, do I want to watch this tonight or is it shite?

JMSA · 11/03/2023 19:34

You want to watch it Grin

Soubriquet · 11/03/2023 20:13

Watch it!! Grin

It's shite!

It was, but I still loved it. Enjoyable shite!

ThreeRingCircus · 11/03/2023 21:25

It's shite but also kind of great!

I enjoyed it, I was getting vertigo and sweaty palms from some of the camera angles. The acting is ATROCIOUS, really hammy and made me laugh out loud at some points it was so bad but it's a good watch with enough action to keep you interested..... just don't question how realistic it is. 🤣

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 11/03/2023 22:12

I watched 47 Meters today, but I definitely prefer Fall.

FrostyFifi · 12/03/2023 21:33

At near the start when she's in the bar, picks up her phone and does the most HILARIOUS sadface. Was literally the hammiest thing I've ever seen.

PriamFarrl · 12/03/2023 22:01

Utter shite, but enjoyable in its own way.

If they were iPhone 14s it wouldn’t have been a problem as you can call emergency services via satellite calling. support.apple.com/en-gb/HT213426

Why did they not tell anyone where they were going and when to raise the alarm? I thought that was standard behaviour with climbers and such like.

Would two experienced climbers really go up that tower in the first place, and if so why wearing teeny tiny shorts, converse and your tits half out?

I wouldn’t have gone up there in the first place would have used the light on my phone to flash out SOS.

JustDanceAddict · 13/03/2023 08:00

I ‘enjoyed’ it but it was so stressful & gross in parts - the vultures freaked me out!!
I didn’t guess the twist so that was a shock, but ultimately it was a load of nonsense.
when Becky pulled hunter up I was thinking no way could she do that (obv she didn’t!) and how did the phone battery last for 2+ days while attempting to use it?! Having said that I did accidentally leave my phone at home for 1.5 days and it still had battery when I got back - albeit I wasn’t at the top of a tower trying to call for help 😆

HandShoe · 14/03/2023 15:12

Enjoyed it. One of those films where you can pick holes in it as it ambles along, but also feel awful for the characters and need to know how it ends.

Flittingaboutagain · 18/03/2023 01:39

Well that was a tense way to get through some night feeds!

squashedalmondcroissant · 20/03/2023 19:13

Just watched this today!

I did enjoy it although I had major sweaty palms the whole time 😂 Speaking of which, they were out in the desert and hot AF not to mention under a lot of stress and yet they are still able to hold each other's body weight/their own from one hand without the use of any kind of climbing chalk?! Wouldn't they have been all slippery? I suppose they were quite dehydrated though..

Also supposedly Becky was so grief stricken that it was suggested she'd been unable to do pretty much anything except get drunk for almost a year and yet still retained the physical strength to go climbing?! And presumably with at least a bit of a hangover?!! There were some serious feats of endurance in there, It's probably a bit different when your life is on the line but still!
