New film dropped today and I’m watching it now.

Honestly watching behind fingers at some points and I feel physically sick to the stomach.

It’s about two girls being trapped at the top of an incredibly high tower so I guess the warning here will be, if you have a major fear of heights…be warned.

I didn’t…but yeah I’m not so keen on going up anything any time soon

The drone was in the bag so by the time they got that they had already thrown one of the phones down in the shoe

True.

Dudum · 08/03/2023 12:34

"Surely Hunter would have been posting about this days before though?"

Well no because if the climb failed then her followers would unfollow. Film first, post later

MattDamon · 08/03/2023 12:41

The movie was made for 3 million which is pretty impressive.

Soubriquet · 08/03/2023 13:14

I would also assume the drone wouldn’t have been able to take flight with the weight of another phone placed on it

When Becky climbed up to charge the phone, I thought she was going to cover/uncover/cover the light to spell out SOS in Morse Code. Or just make it look as if it were spluttering. Surely, as it was lit up so as to be seen by aeroplanes, the aviation authority would send someone out immediately?
They could have done that on the first evening.

Surely it was a camera drone? Why else take it?

Spectre8 · 08/03/2023 18:35

louise5754 · 08/03/2023 11:33

They used the phone as the screen attached to the drone and had a separate remote.

When I meant posted I meant days / weeks before.

Well this is an even bigger blooper

They attached one phone to use as a camera on drone and yet when it got to the gate before they retrieved it it didn't find a signal. Nor did it find a signal before it got whacked by the truck.

Yet drop a dead body with a phone stuffed in a shoe in dead persons body and when it reached the ground voila signal!

I don't think the drone needed a phone on it.

Hunter's got smashed early on when they dropped it in her first shoe.

Becky still had hers near the end when she dropped down to Hunter's body and shoved her phone in the shoe and then in the body.

So a phone couldn't have been smashed on the drone by the lorry. Unless they had 3 phones?

Soubriquet · 09/03/2023 12:41

The drone definitely did not have a phone on it.

It had its own recording equipment installed into the machine.

So, like I said before, I would think one of the reasons they didn’t send the phone down on the drone, was the drone wouldn’t have been able to support the weight. Not just the fact the drone was in the bag

I liked it but also would've liked to have seen her being rescued. It didn't make me sick or dizzy but then heights don't bother me. The underwater one makes me sweat just thinking about it however as I'm afraid of the sea! Definitely won't be watching that one.

MrsWhites · 09/03/2023 13:07

I watched it yesterday, couldn’t watch the bit with the bird it made my stomach turn!

What I found was most unrealistic was how they were just standing willy nilly on the platform, not worried about falling, I’ve had been curled around that central pole in the foetal position!

Also, totally ridiculous that she could hold onto the top of the pole to charge the drone for that long - why didn’t she just smash the light, everything that high has to have the light monitored, someone would have come out and checked it.

One bite of a filthy vulture and all of a sudden she’s a Nike athlete, fixing her hair and scaling the pole down to the satellite dish - then walks off with her dad like she hasn’t got gangrene and all kinds of disease from the bird! No one wants her to get checked at the hospital no???

louise5754 · 09/03/2023 15:05

Sorry you're right the phone was in the remote not the drone.

louise5754 · 09/03/2023 15:07

How long did her phone charge last though 😂😂

Yeah, I had deep envy of her phone charge.

i watched it last weekend on Netflix. I enjoyed it, obviously it's a budget film, totally unrealistic, but good to get the adrenalin moving!!

@Soubriquet Did you see the beginning of the film??

WinterMusings · 09/03/2023 15:18

EmmaEmerald · 07/03/2023 17:16

Is there blood and gore? I can't watch it if there is!

Not really. Only a bit with the birds of prey and another small bit later on, easy enough to shut your eyes for 30 seconds.

WinterMusings · 09/03/2023 15:20

louise5754 · 07/03/2023 17:19

I didn't understand that part?

Well you won't until you watch it.

louise5754 · 09/03/2023 15:23

2 of the producers from 47 Metres down worked on this so explains it.

louise5754 · 09/03/2023 15:24

@WinterMusings

?? Why would I be on a thread about a film I hadn't seen?

She was dead. She wasn't really there.

@louise5754 sorry, I confused you with another poster!

WinterMusings · 09/03/2023 15:35

You definitely can't take them too seriously! There are far too many completely ridiculous things that go on!
unfortunately that stops you (me anyway) seeing what's going to happen...

I was messaging with a friend and said 'she's just hailed her up as though she was only the weight if the back oack'

...& just mentally added that to the list of 'yeah that's likely 🙄🙄🙄'. I didn't twig the plot twist.

🙄🙄

it's utterly shit, but also really good.

with her walking off at the end, I was thinking more, surely the police aren't just going to let her do that. There's the dead body of her friend and only her word to say she didn't push her to her death.

So...the vulture,.did she eat it!? Wouldn't that make her violently unwell?

footstoop · 09/03/2023 18:35

louise5754 · 09/03/2023 19:05

@Youpillock I get that but I missed the conversation where hunter said "You can't take my shoe it's down there" I was in the middle of cooking tea. Gutted as I live the moment a twist happens.
