We are being spoilt

new unforgotten and the bay !!!

starts next wed - whoop

we weren’t sure how s3 would be without lisa (morven) but Jenn (Marsha) managed to pull it off so hopefully s5 unforgiven will be the same without Cassie

so s4

series 4 will focus on the death of young mum Beth Metcalf, who appears to have been killed in a targeted attack.

Jenn Townsend is called to help bereft husband Dean, who is struggling to hold it together with four children to look after.

And as Jenn, Manning, and the team dig into the case, "they discover secrets and lies lurk beneath every surface".

ITV drama boss Polly Hill said: "I'm delighted that we will be returning to Morecambe for another series of The Bay. Marsha Thomason delivered a brilliant performance as DS Jenn Townsend, and it will be exciting to see where Daragh takes her character in series 4.

The Bay (www.bt.com/tv/drama/the-bay-series-3-itv-meet-the-cast) has become one of ITV’s most popular returning series with viewers watching the Morecambe-set detective drama in their millions.
Marsha Thomason will return as family liaison officer DS Jenn Townsend for The Bay series 4 in 2023 with familiar faces from Morecambe CID also back in the cast.
In series 4 we’ve been promised another story filled with twists and turns, all set once more on the dramatic and glorious coastline of north-west England.

Written by Daragh Carville (Being Human, Cherrybomb), the police drama first aired in 2019, when Morven Christie (www.bt.com/tv/drama/morven-christie-in-spotlight-the-bay-grantchester-the-a-word) led the cast as DC Lisa Armstrong.
Christie and co-star Taheen Modak, who played Med Kharim, left the show after series 2, with Thomason stepping into her shoes as the local force's family liaison officer in s3

Daniel from Happy Valley as well!

Did anyone notice at the end the announcer said you can catch up with all episodes on ITVX or on Monday at 9pm when The Bay continues! I was confused then she started talking about Unforgotten 🤷🏻‍♀️

I hope it’s not an insurance scam by the husband and they were supposed to be out. That’s a bit too straight forward.

that was my thoughts but hope not!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2023 12:56

I hope it's not the hubby

I don't think so as he didn't yell down the phone get out of the house now

Where if he did the fire he would have said that

OP posts:
ilovebrie8 · 09/03/2023 14:11

That's true @Blondeshavemorefun ! hope it is not him...don't think it will be...i wonder if it's something to do with the teenager daughter....

diddl · 09/03/2023 14:33

I also wondered if insurance but a bit obvious.

Why was Dean working so late I wonder?

When he shouted at them & then Jenn started asking if he had a temper,

I think I would have shouted if my kids were all squabbling like that!

Beth working extra shifts to leave?

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2023 18:59

Or lots of money issues

goyuwer · 09/03/2023 19:56

Was Tony meeting the ex wife in the hotel room? She said they split in previous series because he gave too much to the job. Will him seeing her and spending less time and focus on job course something crucial to be missed or happen

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 09/03/2023 20:34

I love watching the Bay is I used to live in Morecambe and still live nearby but I couldn’t help noticing massive plot holes in the first few minutes. Why were CID attending a fire? How did they know the woman inside was dead before the fire fighters had finished searching? How did they immediately know it was deliberate? Why did Tony go in so aggressively when interviewing the work mate? So far the only suspicions he has are that he has a previous conviction and was on his own street at the time of the fire.

ilovebrie8 · 09/03/2023 21:02

I think it’s Tony’s ex wife in the hotel room. He’s cutting meetings short that cropped up few times ...

SgtCatherineCawood · 09/03/2023 21:08

I thought the same about the CID attending @Idratherbepaddleboarding. And the firefighters didn't seem to be going in to try and rescue her, no wonder there was no body left for the NOK to identify. Then taking the family away with the fire blazing in the background and no attempt being made to put it out!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2023 06:57

Oh is it his ex

I can't remember / is she in previous series

You see wife banging at window

Fireman saying stay there

But then the lock of shell shocked

Like if the house exploded

But don't think we saw that did we

martinisforeveryone · 10/03/2023 12:10

The way they showed the fire raging and the implied explosion was catastrophic but they, the fire crew, didn’t seem very efficient. I suppose in reality smoke inhalation would’ve done for her really quickly, but it wasn’t the most plausible turn of events. The dad seems disengaged from the family and at first I assumed they weren’t his children. He seems detached from everything really, but not coming across as traumatised.

butterpuffed · 10/03/2023 16:09

Yes, it was Tony's ex wife , she left him last series and he was heartbroken .

I don't think the husband had anything to do with the fire but I doubt he's telling them everything .

JMSA · 10/03/2023 22:08

Oh wow, this series is really boring compared to previous ones. I'm on episode 2.

JMSA · 10/03/2023 22:46

Would you mind tagging me in to future shows @Blondeshavemorefun
We have, like, identical TV viewing tastes!

Happy to @JMSA

But we don't binge 😂😂😛😛

No spoilers, I promise Grin
I don't usually binge as I can't bear the ads, but I'm loaded with cold on the sofa!
Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks again Smile

goyuwer · 11/03/2023 10:27

Jens blue backpack annoyed me, its hardly Sunny's trade mark backpack from Unforgotten and it just seems so out of place, it looks too small to have anything of value, yet she carries it around everywhere even when all other cops have no bags

I mean he's played by Joe Armstrong-there's got to be something dodgy about his character!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/03/2023 12:44

He does often play dodgy
