Detectorists Appreciation thread

I knew about Detectorists but always assumed it would be a bit too gentle / suited for elderly people for some reason. Since starting it I've fallen in love with it and have binged the whole lot! Just got the recent Xmas special left to view.

What a well written, well cast, lovely warming show. Just what I needed this winter.

Anyone else came across this years later?

I think it's wonderful. Lost count how many times I've watched it. I love farmer Bishop from the first season

Forgot to add that I was blown away with the magpie song by the Unthanks. That whole scene was truly stunning./mesmerising

This was the only thing I felt really unsatisfied about, it seemed pointless to show us their dream cottage for the writers to then burn it down.

Makes a bit more sense if it happened in real life I suppose.

The series music was the icing on the cake for me. Sorry if you already know this, but in the episode where Lance and Andy do the open mic thing, Johnny Flynn is the guy on stage before them!
