Can I just say I absolutely loved Sharon's black trouser outfit for the gym opening and also Linda's pink coat wrap around dress 😍

Also, I thought The Boxing Den's name was chosen more as a homage to Sharon's late dad Den. Not her late son Denny

Getting sick of queen of EE Sharon with her husky voice, Keanu sounds like he's reading his lines by rote and their love affair is unbelievable. Sam on the other hand is becoming really likeable.

It was quite touching when Phil instantly agreed to Peggy's as venue for the fundraiser, and waived the hire charge. His expression looked like a rare moment of genuine concern for Lola's wellbeing? And she's faaaaamily.

But it's Phil. Not known for his philanthropy. So there's the ulterior motive, of course, of showing Sam who's really boss/ maintaining his Billy Big Balls image to impress Kat etc. etc.

I agree with PPs that Sam's really coming across well at the moment.
Especially as a friend to Zach.

Keanu's acting has become a bit ' hammy ' lately. When he was with Karen , she was so natural and he just looked bemused and a bit bored. Maybe the prospect of having a girlfriend instead of a wife isn't as appealing maybe ? He wants the big gestures or maybe the financial security, as it stands she has this and he doesn't. He'll just be her plaything now I suppose.
She said ' if I get married again it'll be to someone who knows me well ' or something last night , which made me think she won't ever marry him !
Poor Sam too , yeah , Phil, throw the upcoming wedding party out of Peggy's for a school fund raiser

Karen made me laugh in an older episode by referring to Sharon as "that peroxide pensioner" 😆

Why would a 23 year old want Albie full time ? Sharon cares for him well and she has money and a business, he seems happy enough. All Ken has to offer is his mums place really , he hasn't a regular job or much money.
He wants to be a happy family , but co parenting is working ok for them. His not thinking straight if this is his main aim.

Why isn't Lola asking Kathy if she can hire out The Albert for the fundraiser? There's more than one possible venue after all!

I quit Eastenders at the start of 2020 but I’m lonely on the evenings so figured I would start watching again last week as I used to like that it felt somewhat like seeing what your mates had been up to every night.

Anyways is there any essential overarching storylines I should be aware of? I saw there was some kind of preview of Christmas showing a dead man and lots of the ladies surrounding him? Is the cuff links mentioned in the thread title to do with that?

Wheres Ian nowadays? Did Sharon ever find out he was kind of responsible for Denny dying?

How on earth have Phil and Kat ended up together? I think the last I saw she was on/off with Alfie as always.

Who are the guys that Chelsea lives with? Are they both gay? One seems to be, other one she kissed and he seemed pleasantly surprised?

I caught some bits of the recent Christmas/new year eps. Is Mick confirmed dead? Or still unknown? Assume the case with Janine in court is about Mick

P.S. Does anyone actually like Sonia? Why is she still in it after all this time? I can’t stand her personally and always felt she’s been such a boring, superfluous character over the years

Ian left after Sharon discovered he was responsible for Denny dying on the boat in 2020.
She married him in hospital, then tried to poison him with a dodgy carbonara ! The marriage was annulled. He did come back for Dots funeral to lay flowers, but he didn't go in the church

It involves six main characters, all women and will happen at Christmas as it flashed up ' Christmas 2023) ( Suki , Stacey , Kathy , Sharon , Linda , Denise )
Sharon is seen in a wedding dress
The two guys living with Chelsea are relatives of Mitch and are brothers
Felix is gay and also dresses up as a drag act too. Finley runs a food stall
Mick is still missing and Janine has pleaded guilty ( but that was only this week !)

Mitch is with Karen atm, they had Chantelle together, but she was murdered by the horrible Gray :( I don't think she was ever married to him though
He is also Bailey's dad , but her mum sadly died and we haven't seen Bailey for ages now!
The poison story was a bit macabre. He was nearly poisoned , but Sharon stopped it all and he was only sick. Still managed to get to the station to leave though. Apart from that brief appearance at Dots funeral, there hasn't been any word from him at all and Kathy doesn't mention him.

Phil and Kat happened last year I think ; they hooked up one night in the arches and it's sort of lasted a while, she moved into his house with the boys.
They were going to get married last summer time , but Alfie kidnapped her and took her to his boat and tried to persuade her to go out with him instead ! Her dress was ruined as she ended up in the river , so they called it all off and now decided they will marry at Christmas instead ! Alfie had to sell the boat to pay off debts. He was upset for ages about it all , but he seems over it now a bit I think.
Phil and Kat have turned into the smuggest pair in town , his ' retired' and co owns the boxing gym with Sharon and Kat runs the launderette and the cabs and the cleaning businesses etc

Poor Alfie 😂 who owns the Vic? See Alfie and Linda working in it? I think last I saw it was owned by those weird bunch working with Max to ‘destroy the square’ maybe? Can’t remember tbh

Nish is married to Suki , who is having an affair with Eve who is actually married to Stacey ( but only for prison release reasons and Stacey felt sorry for her when they met inside jail )
Ravi is Nish's son , but they only discovered this a while ago. Ravi is being investigated by Jack and Callum for criminal acts and owns the restaurant that was once Beales. Denise nearly slept with Ravi , but she didn't go through with it. Ravi hangs around Chelsea to wind up Denise who knows that Jack is investigating him.
Sharon is desperate to have a financial stake in the Vic, but Linda has been on the phone to someone else about it, but we don't know who ! Nish also wanted the pub, but that has gone quite lately too.
Alfie n Linda are only friends , but he works in the pub.

Father is Ricky Jr. (son of Sam Mitchell and Jack Branning, aka PoloNeckDetective, conceived after a quick fling...) only aged 13 himself.

We don't know who the mystery person is on the phone to Linda. I don't think it's Mick though
Stacey was framed by Ruby and went off ( to have a baby in real life , but in prison in EE ) for quite a while.

• Tommy (Kat's son, 13ish)
• Bert and Ernie (yes, really) twins of Kat & Alfie (9ish/10ish?)

• Ravi's irritating shit-stirrer (13ish) son, Davinder (known as 'Nugget'. Nope, me neither. Possibly because he eats too many of the chicken variety?)

• Denzel (Howie's son, 13ish). Seems a nice lad. Sensible, esp compared with his loopy stepmother figure Kim...

Supportive of girlfriend Amy Branning, who has been struggling with self- harm

• Pearl (Kim's daughter, 8ish/9ish?). But she goes to private school, so not around much.
