So the first ever has happened - a flash forward of someone dead wearing cufflinks

we don’t see a hand. I believe that’s coz it is nish or Ravi so be obvious who is dead

we have MONTHS of pondering

meanwhile

will lily have her baby - hope not as she’s 12

whitney - give her some happiness and luck and make baby be the lower end of disability

muck is still awol and Janine trying to sell her share to someone

linda has someone in mind who she will happily work with so rules out ian and max

Denise will she sleep with ravi

Ravi what is he doing that the police are watching

who will shazza marry

will she be silly enough to go back to keanu

kathy - will she find out fiance is still married

They could all find jobs away from the square

Now there's a thought

And yes market place for £30

'You know me & Suki, worked out fingers to the bone' Wink. Stacey's face !

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2023 19:58

Stacey is very good at pushing people away isn't she? What is she like !!

The writers rarely come up with proper solutions to money woes or ways round it ( maybe looking in a charity shop for bigger blouses for Lily or second hand freezers as mentioned below)
Instead they go to the drastic measures very quickly ! Martin will make some money, but it's clear they all need a big spreadsheet and a proper budget. Harvey losing hours as a cabbie is rough , but he is fit enough to do something else or look for another Job away from the square ( I know it's a big ask, lol )
Living That close to london he could find something I'm sure.

Why did they not let landlord replace it

The snobbish attitude about putting their kids in clean clothes etc yawn

Avariceagain · 14/03/2023 20:15

There's loads of adults in Stacey's house. If they all got full time, minimum wage jobs, there would be plenty of money coming in. Makes no sense. Where I live, people give away second hand school uniform, usually free, if not, for pennies. It really annoys me because there are loads of people struggling in this country, but there is no need for the Slaters to be.

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2023 20:30

I can't remember what Vinny said now about the fridge : did he offer to replace it then ?
I thought he told them it wasn't his problem?

MichaelAndEagle · 14/03/2023 20:34

No, the landlord wouldn't replace it. I mean I would have thought if it was provided with the house it would be replaced....anyway it was just a plot device!

It was unclear

They wanted the food replaced but I would have thought he would replace it

Doesn't Stacey have a fridge in her burger van

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2023 20:43

Good point re the burger van fridge
Or take it round Kats
I'm surprised that Eve didn't go and see Alan to 'sort him out '
( did he wear cuff links ?)

MichaelAndEagle · 14/03/2023 20:51

Didn't the burger van break the other week too? I can't remember how they sorted that!

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2023 21:00

Stacey took out a loan to replace the burger van fridge etc. another reason they don't have any money

MichaelAndEagle · 14/03/2023 21:03

Ah right, I missed that.

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2023 21:03

At least Mick used to put his intelligent glasses on and look at a spread sheet during the great cost of living crisis at the vic once !
He had a handle on it
These lot are just living hand to mouth atm
It's not good.

the80sweregreat · 14/03/2023 21:04

There was a scene with Eve n Stacey where she mentioned a loan : I assumed bank ? But no idea.

I assumed she just meant victim intimidation

AutumnalLeaves38 · 14/03/2023 22:43

I bet Security Perve Alan is one of Freddie's foot fetish gawkers.

He has that look about him.

iknowimcoming · 14/03/2023 23:07

I found tonight's episode really irritating! Lola refusing grief counselling for Lexi, (which she could apparently start literally the next day) and Lexi shrieking Nan at a woman she's met what? Twice? The nonsense of Dee saying loudly 18 times she'll be out all afternoon, and Ravi sneaking in and out the back door in the Nick of time, and the Stacey/police/Kat stuff was a joke too! Maybe I'm in a grumpy mood?

I felt the same, hence my post below.
They really are just a bunch of thickos.
Blush

JMSA · 14/03/2023 23:58

As someone who works in Education, it REALLY annoys me that they never mention anything like school uniform grants. Same when a school trip comes up that they can't afford. There ARE funds available to help hard-up parents and I wish Eastenders would raise awareness of this. Instead they'd have us believe that Stacey sewed up Lily's (already too small) school shirt from when it got ripped in a fight 🙄

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2023 08:20

One would assume they would be on pupil premium so get £100 towards uniform

Uc is never mentioned and sure they would pay some of the housing costs that they mention every now and again

Bunionbabe · 15/03/2023 08:56

No money, no food, pregnant child in the family, three kids different dads but hey, we working class folk still have our pride? Yes they all a bit dim but they are share same gene pool/brain cell, so no wonder. I actually think Stace is quite an unpleasant character, belligerent and rude.

GoodChat · 15/03/2023 08:58

I suppose they're never going to be entitled to pupil premium or UC credit with 5 adults capable of working full time in the house though.

They need to just get proper jobs rather than always dipping in and out of things.
