2023’s final trilogy of films will find Endeavour and Thursday entering a new era of change both professionally and personally.

Set in the spring of 1972, the final season’s opening episode is directed by none other than Endeavour star Shaun Evans.

The synopsis for the story reads: “Two unexplained deaths turn up ties to the Oxford Concert Orchestra, while a body discovered in a derelict warehouse stokes fears that ‘London business’ has yet again found its way to Oxford.

“Thursday and Endeavour’s investigation unearths some unsettling connections to cases the duo believed were well and truly behind them.”

Oh god his own eyes in the mirror as Morse as he sees his future pass begged him as he drives away.

What a brilliant ending...

Bet the first ever episode has Morae driving into Blenheim

I didn't understand the shot going off either. He obviously didn't shoot himself.

Emotional 🥹 got to try and sleep now. A fitting ending

Like the end of the pilot episode when Thursday asks him how he sees himself in 20 years. He looks in the rear view mirror and sees John Thaw.

He said Sam would have to disappear. Thursday says "and that's on me" then gives him his gun.

Was Sam there?

I’d have liked a cleaner ending for Thursday I think. Wonder if we will get a follow up on him?

And Morse never called Joan by her name, but in Morse, he frequently enquires after Mrs Strange (as she is now)

Maybe he didn't mean that, I don't know.

He didn't kill Sam... don't think he'd suddenly have had a moral lapse of that magnitude!

It just seems a bit pointless Fred saving Sam only to have Endeavour shoot him anyway

I wouldn't have thought so. I saw it as him.being on his own not knowing what to do.

Loved the ending. It. Was. Poignant. Very. Poignant.

Think that's the best end to a TV series I've ever seen, loved it, so poignant and beautifully done.
