Has anyone else been watching today? I've watched 4 episodes so far. Dated, but loving it

Just watched the latest episodes and it’s the same song on every one! It makes sense that it’s one song written for the show.

Yeah in the later episodes you always here the same music in the background.
The music was made especially for Brookie, as you say , to save on paying royalties.
I actually quite liked some of the music they played !

The homophobia storyline is quite hard to watch
Really not liking Paul and Annabelles view that appears to be its Gordon,s fault becsuse hes gay

Some strange fashion choices .

I find the regular inclusion of location shoots in Brookside fascinating. I think there was a trend for one off abroad specials in other soaps at one point but I don’t recall extensive shoots abroad as part of regular episodes. We’ve had Spain, Italy, Austria and now Canada in Brookside; also the Isle of Man!. Mind you, I did wonder at one point if it really was Canada at one point as there was little to distinguish it! I think the lake sealed it though! staff must have wanted a holiday!

Living the fashion Cheryl’s dress with the ruching & wearing tights with it ! Jonathan’s Citroen ! Also remember watching these episodes and thinking Tracey’s creepy boss in the hairdressers was ancient - but on rewatch possibly in his 30s ! Love love love this show it’s my weekly guilty pleasure . Usually watch 2 or 3 on a Saturday afternoon in my very own ‘omnibus’ .

I love it so much and really surprised at stuff I've forgotten. Although I have never forgotten the magic rabbits 😂

The creepy handsy boss, redolent of its time. I worked in an office in the late 1970s, it was a given that men would put their arm round you when talking, so creepy. Glad my DD doesn't have to put up with nonsense like that.

I think Tracey Corkhill looks young, say late teens. Might be because I'm a pensioner though.

Yes I am, I've just reached Christmas day at the Corkhills, possibly five or ten episodes behind.

I'm really enjoying watching it, I can't remember the storylines but I had a newborn in 1988 so it's possible that I didn't watch them all back then. I really was a devoted fan though and used to video them.

It’s funny because there are storylines which seem new to me but then in the same episode there are random bits which I remember, like Debbie saying she’d call the teddy Corky but I don’t remember the Barry and Sinbad story.

@NCTDN Yes, currently watching at the moment and im up to the episode where the Rodgers dress up as Arabs.
I love watching Brookie its my favourite thing to watch as it takes me back to much simpler times. I was only 10 in 1988 when these episodes first aired but I remember many of the characters.
