I recall her being involved with a tie in 'children in need ' episode where he made her live in London away from her family and he had coercive control over her. I think it was Bianca , or possibly Kat , who found her and brought her back ( or Carly ? ) it was someone like that anyway! I remember a grotty flat away from the square and Whitney saying how happy she was there when it was pretty dire and she couldn't do anything without his permission.
The special episode was put in during the Friday night CIN to hi light how vulnerable people can be persuaded to move away and be enticed by money and a 'new life ' to leave everyone.

Looking back, EE must take the prize for coming up with the biggest load of preposterous plots in the history of TV. It's been fun though.

When it first started it did deal with racism and death from the get go ( they sometimes put the very first episode online or I player at anniversary time )
It's worth a watch to see how different the set was and how much more wordy it was too. Longer scenes of people interacting with each other and how it was the Beales and the Fowler's who were the main families featured
To keep coming up with new stories must be hard though , many are recycled just with different characters!
