Welcome to the 3rd thread.

No arguments! No spoilers (including sharing what the whole of the internet says when it isn't based on any of your own deductions...). Flippancy and jest entirely welcome!

I predict the unmasking of obscure and disappointing Americans is imminent.

Fawn is Nicole Sherzinger!

Piggywaspushed · 29/01/2023 07:32

Now I've forgotten who said they were in the highest viewing show on 30 years?

That was Phoenix , who mentioned loads and loads of reality shows, too.
I'm a bit of a viewing figures afficionado and can't get that top thing at all. Big things lately are not obvious. We'd have to go back to 'Merry Christmas Ange' for something truly impressive so it's probably something a bit tenuous.

Piggywaspushed · 29/01/2023 07:34

Or the Line of Duty final but there are no other links.

Kaiser Chiefs never performed before a Cup Final did they?

Yes, Phoenix mentioned the top 30 show thing, whilst walking through a bunch of flags that looked like the standards used in Games of Thrones (and the music was similar) so maybe we were meant to think it was someone from that- but I think a lot of the viewing figures from GoT came from (probably illegal Grin) streaming- so not sure it counts!.

Can Christopher Dean sing? Grin One of the highest viewing figures in the last 30 years was T and D's comeback at the Olympics in 1994. He's a judge- and did a show called Fire and Ice. (Phoenix/fire) There was a Dancing on Ice clue.

And he's still standing- on the Ice. Grin

There you go- that's my bat shit guess Grin

(he's also quite tall- he was a police man.).

If it's him- I will eat my dog.

(not really).

OrderItFromZanzibar · 29/01/2023 08:22

Charlie Simpson also had a song called "When we were lions"

OrderItFromZanzibar · 29/01/2023 08:24

Potato sounded very much like Brian Conley at the beginning but none of the clues point to him. He's being made out to be quite famous from the clues...Reminds me of Ray Winstone but I think it would be beneath him!

NigelHargreaves · 29/01/2023 08:29

Fawn is 100% Amelia Bullmore from Alan Partridge!

Raahh · 29/01/2023 08:30

Order the only clue I could make fit for Brian ( let's face it- the clues are all tenuousGrin) was the glitterball/disco ball one the other week- because he's done Strictly.

And it sounds like him.

And about half a dozen other 'professional cockney geezers' Grin

Piggywaspushed · 29/01/2023 08:45

I mean I love Amelia Bullmore but I genuinely don't think any of the clues -except the Al Partridge- fit her at all.

Raahh, is your dog now nervously scanning the room for exit points?

Piggy Grin He say's it's David Tennant and he's safe. Wink.

Raahh · 29/01/2023 08:50

But if I'm right....

Grin

Jacket potato is 100% Richie Sambora. Listen to his song stranger in this town and it's the same voice as this weeks Santana song. The clue is that both Richie and Santana are famous for playing the guitar. Bon Jovi played the farm aid concert in 1985 for the Idaho dairy link on his costume.

To think that a couple of weeks ago I "knew" it was Shane Ritchie!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 29/01/2023 09:48

My DH reckons Phoenix could be Jamie Laing. Lots of reality TV clues including Strictly and dancing in ice, there was a football clue, the sticks of rock could be a nod toward Candy Kittens sweets, the reinvention clue as he's now a radio 1 host, I'm still standing could be about his injury on Strictly and then returning. I have no idea if he can sing but I thought it was an interesting thought.

MrsPutnamNaomiDarling · 29/01/2023 09:58

I'm sure I heard a scottish accent a few times from Phoenix, at points when his voice was straining slightly. I'd love it to be Tennant, but if the show was filmed in October, wouldn't he have been deep in rehearsals for 'Good'? (Not sure when it opened.)

OrderItFromZanzibar · 29/01/2023 10:18

One of the singers made me think of Dancing on Ice. As they said they wanted their drink "on ice". But I don't watch Strictly or Dancing on Ice and I can't remember which one it was. I think maybe Phoenix or jellyfish?

Fair enough. I don't know enough about Jon Bon Jovi (didn't even know who Richie Sambora was).

Phoenix.

If Phoenix is Ricky Wilson, which I incline towards, there must have been a predict a riot clue by now?

ArticSaviour · 28/01/2023 19:28

How is 9 to 5 a clue? Someone who has been in the musical?

I think it’s daisy may cooper. 9-5 links to Dolly Parton whose sang about a country girl (this country) called daisy mae…

AnotherPigeon · 29/01/2023 10:43

I could go with Jacket Potato being Richie Sambora, but it's going to be embarrassing when nobody recognises him.

Allaboardthegroovytrain · 29/01/2023 10:44

Piggywaspushed · 28/01/2023 19:29

Any theories on the scarecrow??

Daisy may cooper as there was an episode about a scarecrow festival in this country…

GellerYeller · 29/01/2023 11:27

Kaiser Chiefs were on the American Leg of Live 8 and the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony. Either of those the biggest show in 30 years?

TinselAngel · 29/01/2023 11:48

Remind me who had the scarecrow clue?

Claymorekick · 29/01/2023 12:04

Not definitive in anyway but I sent my friend the video of Hallelujah - she doesn't watch TMS but she is a huge Bon Jovi fan. She says it is Richie Sambora 🤪
