OP posts:
Polkadotties · 03/01/2023 21:27

I felt sick

mum0fone · 03/01/2023 21:30

I think it will give me nightmares but I weirdly couldn't look away. Incredible how it looked when the put it back in place

Rhondaa · 03/01/2023 21:31

The paramedics need bollocking. That wasn't just an open fracture it was hanging off. Why hadn't they radioed ahead and made sure they knew what to expect?!

AuntieDolly · 03/01/2023 21:36

They could have warned me! Worst thing I've seen on there

Borris · 03/01/2023 21:38

Yes I can handle nearly anything. But not back to front feet it appears 🤢

Toddlerteaplease · 03/01/2023 21:39

This was filmed in my hospital. I have t lived down my appearance on 'Hospital' so glad I'm not on this. My colleague thinks she may be on it. And is mortified as apparently she spent ages staring at the camera trying to work out what it was. 😂😂😂

BeetyAxe · 03/01/2023 21:39

I also felt sick-absolutely horrendous.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/01/2023 21:42

I'm on nights so
Can't watch. Love a gory wound.

Flora73 · 03/01/2023 21:46

This is just so sad.

Twospaniels · 03/01/2023 21:47

My daughter badly broke her ankle, luckily she had long leather riding boots on which are what stopped her foot ending up like that!

Feeling sad for the lady whose husband is dying. I hope someone comes to sit with her, maybe a niece or nephew

EMAs is well known for being shite

Always4Brenner · 03/01/2023 21:48

She was lucky not to lose that foot I gasped at that.

I too hope this lovely lady has plenty of friends and relatives to care for her afterwards

Cocolapew · 03/01/2023 21:49

It was the worse injury I've seen on it.
I'm now sobbing with poor Florence ☹️

AuntieDolly · 03/01/2023 21:50

and now I'm crying :(

Bet she told the hospital crew not to cut her boots off, I know how much long riding boots cost 😂

3luckystars · 03/01/2023 21:51

I cry at every episode. This one sounds really bad though, I might have to watch it behind a cushion.

Really?

I've seen air ambulance staff transfer less severe injuries than that. Didn't the paramedics know about pain relief, or how time critical the whole thing was. Couldn't they have immobilised it? They seemed to wander in as if she'd sprained her ankle Shock.

SiliconeHeaven · 03/01/2023 21:53

To be honest, I'm pretty shocked by the care that had been given in this episode.
They tried to pull her trainer of without anaesthesia, no wonder she lashed out.
And then to tell someone that they are putting their husband on an end of life pathway without discussing options and allowing her to feel past of the decision.
Oh, and he might die in 24 to 48 hours and we we get him onto a ward in a side room. (yeah right). Have they not heard of fast track discharge.!!!!!!

HelenHywater · 03/01/2023 21:55

What other options did she have @SiliconeHeaven ?

In the same position as her, I wouldn't know anything other than what the doctor was telling me.

(It's very upsetting).

Surely ketamine for her with the ankle at the scene and yes Florence so sad heart breaking.

Rhondaa · 03/01/2023 21:57

'To be honest, I'm pretty shocked by the care that had been given in this episode'

Yes it was absolutely shocking and not just the injury.

Blimey QMC, not looking good so far. Who cares that the sister is gay?!

SiliconeHeaven · 03/01/2023 21:58

@HelenHywater She could give options, with realistic expectations and expectations.
Trust me I have had that type of conversation many times and have never made that decision for anyone.

ThelmaDinkley · 03/01/2023 22:01

Florence’s situation was a carbon copy of my mum in law didn’t even get her a side room either. So thankful we had the hospice for my dad totally different care.
