@usedtolovenaps they did. They came after her to do it!

Ooooh! So she might be on it 🤣

3luckystars · 09/01/2023 07:02

That foot was absolutely horrific, I’m not right after it. You all warned me and I didn’t listen.

3luckystars · 09/01/2023 07:03

How do people work there, I would need counselling.

I absolutely love the programme though. it’s brilliant.

Worklessplaymore · 09/01/2023 22:20

Horrific foot injury aside, I’m still upset about the doctor telling the wife that her husband was dying while he was half in and half out of earshot.

I know he was quite out of it but he was having moments of lucidity when he replied coherently to questions.

The doctor was lovely and sympathetic but you could tell the patient wanted to know as he asked his wife what the outcome of her conversation with the doctor was.

I know the NHS is under huge stress so some of the niceties might go out of the window but this was the last few hours of this man’s life as it turned out.

Toddlerteaplease · 09/01/2023 23:38

They did they the same in one of the London episodes and I thought it was a pretty awful thing to do then.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/01/2023 22:56

Fortunately not as gory this week!

TheLostNights · 12/01/2023 14:09

The foot flapping about and the nurse nearly losing her grip on it would have made me pass out cold if I had been there.

Carriemac · 17/01/2023 22:45

What a great episode tonight

AnotherNameChangeYes · 17/01/2023 23:10

Amazing episode! And a great resus, so calm.

I’m so pleased for him, he had such a long down time, and thank goodness someone knew how to do cpr.

Yes it was really good. Open fracture straight into major trauma room as should be.

The staff were so professional and supportive to Kye's mother. Really showed how it's done. Staff (and paramedics!) From ep 1 please take note.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/01/2023 21:40

Anyone read the James Herriot books. Where they think one of the other vets is mad for sprinkling sugar on a prolapsed uterus in a cow.......

Sugar is a brilliant way to treat a prolapsed stoma area!

Toddlerteaplease · 24/01/2023 22:43

Love that we have all this modern technology, but sometimes all you need is something as basic as sugar from the cafe. Wonder if she had to pay for it!! (QMC is very stingy)

CleanBedding · 25/01/2023 08:28

I was singing 'a spoonful of sugar makes the prolapse, go down'

Poor lad. His whole life messed up by someone else's stupid actions.

CoffeeWithCheese · 25/01/2023 09:27

I've been watching this series as it's my local hospital and I do know a fair few people who work there (it's not the NHS trust I work at) - but I have to say I've recognised a few faces who were definitely on their sunshines and rainbows footing for the camera and have not been like that in my experience!

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2023 10:16

Though the doctor with brown curly hair on the opening credits, is genuinely lovely!!

TheLostNights · 27/01/2023 22:57

Really random but the guy with the fracture had the nicest bluest eyes I have ever seen.

LIZS · 31/01/2023 22:53

Very unnerving for those of use with student offspring

billysboy · 01/02/2023 06:53

Quite a shocking episode and surprised how common this is

I'm surprised they went to A&E and didn't ring 111 for advice. Distressing though it must be to wonder if you'd had a drink spiked or been injected (how would you not be 100% sure of someone stuck a needle in you?) It wasn't an accident or an emergency.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/02/2023 19:41

I'm a bit skeptical about many so called spikings. They've just reacted unusually to alcohol. Or had more than they think.

Cocolapew · 01/02/2023 22:27

DDs friend was spiked, it was at the top of her thigh and she felt it happened, she also had an obvious mark and bruise. She hadn't had any alcohol so maybe was more aware, she said it hurt because he just stabbed it into her leg as he walked past.

3luckystars · 03/02/2023 07:26

I’m still thinking about that ankle episode and can’t watch it since!!! It came into my ahead again yesterday. Aaaaaghhhh!!!!

I didn’t see the episode you are discussing but I think getting stabbed with a needle, I would definitely go to A and E!!!

(I’m not in the UK though things are different there)

Dulra · 03/02/2023 09:48

I am always surprised by some of the things people go to A&E for on this show and was also on this. I would have thought police and local health centre/ gp was what was needed nothing really emergency about it, they were fine but needed bloods done which can be done by gp and it was a crime so reporting to police a must

Toddlerteaplease · 03/02/2023 11:45

@Dulra I thought the same. Especially the one who went the next day. The girl who collapsed was kept in for two days. Though they were clearly ruling out medical causes in her case. It was a very boring episode. To much back story and no exciting stuff. The bit at the end where they two girls were having a cup of tea in a garden, was so obviously staged! (Impressed by a student let in Nottingham that has a hot tub though!)
