Do love that they are less "i love youuuuuuuuu".

And interesting that only one person can win the money? I wonder how that would work if it is all traitors left at the end it whatever.

If there are 2 traitors it's a split or steal ending

Posted too soon - some of them are NEVER on camera e.g. Paul and Craig. I don't think they've ever said more than two words? Surely it can be edited to include some clips of them talking about anything?

The older English guy stays for ages because he flies under the radar

Adeckofcards · 30/12/2022 23:14

The other really annoying thing is they label each episode naming out who was banished/murdered in it. Completely idiotic. It seems you have to watch everything live in Oz or else know the result before watching it back.

I really enjoyed the idea of the roulette challenge!

I noticed that. I wondered if something dodgy came out post-filming and they've had to minimise their involvement. (NB I haven't watched to the end yet).

I'm half way through ep 4. I ffwd through all the tasks and recaps.

Chloe - I always think "psychics" have some kind of mental health problem tbh, and frankly the way she behaved would kind of support that. HOWEVER her guesses were statistically pretty good!

Angus is behaving pretty sketchily, as are Claire and marielle. The U.K. traitors were better I think but we'll see how it pans out. The uneven editing of all the participants is a bit tedious.

mazylou · 31/12/2022 12:35

We thought that too regarding Paul @Peasepuddingbloodycold - he might as well not have existed for quite some time.

Mark's guesses were more accurate!

Im up to episode 4 i think.
Why did chloe make those guesses and not even back up her reasoning and then just leave?it was madness!I would have liked her to stay in,at the very least I would have liked to have seen her interviewed.
If I was angus I would be pissed at both nigel and marielle.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 31/12/2022 14:53

Does this mean we can discuss Chloe?

00100001 · 31/12/2022 15:08

I think so. She's an interesting character!

It's fascinating how they're both pooh-pooh and she might be right? I'm always interested in "psychic mediums", I don't believe they're genuinely contacting spirits personally, but it's fascinating how they get to the point of genuinely believing and bit being definitive....or correct!

I've watched the first two episodes.

It's interesting to see the differences. Aus one feels like a low-budget daytime pilot whereas the UK one is glossier with much higher production values designed for prime time. Aus presenter is stilted and bland compared to Claudia. The gap in the round table is annoying me, the Traitors' robes look awkward and ill-fitting and an ancient Highland castle definitely trumps an Aus hotel for sheer style.

While Aus has a more high-brow collection of contestants (I would love to see people with those job titles on the UK version), I couldn't tell you much about them even though I knew everyone by this stage on the UK one. I think the UK did the right thing by introducing everyone on the opening episode with the train gimmick.

Looking forward to seeing how it unravels.

Lentilweaver · 31/12/2022 16:16

One only realises how fabulous a presenter Claudia is when one sees other presenters. Roger is SO stilted.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 31/12/2022 16:27

I like both hosts' camp style, but yes, Claudia is a bit more of a natural.

Wot I reckon with Chloe is that her beliefs are generally humoured and this environment confronted her with reality and that was overwhelming.
I don't want to google to see if anything came out about her because I don't want spoilers. (I'm on episode 11 and think 12 must be the final).

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 31/12/2022 17:26

(I've just finished the series. I agree with people who have reviewed it as, "oh boy").

ellebelli · 31/12/2022 17:37

I googled and Chloe did not like the fact no one listened to her.
The spirits told her it was Angus and Marielle and must have got it wrong on the other two.
l like how she guessed 4,was that ever known? the number of traitors?
Also Marielle made a mistake when she said that there was 4 and someone asked her how she knew that, then nothing more came from it.
I do not know if i will carry on watching it...those that have is it worth carrying on,I do find it boring in places and the PP who likened it to a low budget daytime show is spot on.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 31/12/2022 17:43

I think it's worth it, but I skipped through most of the challenges. I also skipped through some of the filler and probably missed the odd twist or betrayal. Still worth it though.

My take from both series is that I just couldn't hack such an experience.

Lentilweaver · 31/12/2022 22:03

just finished Ep 9. Got here by fast forwarding all the tedious challenges. Got a lot more exciting suddenly! Will wait for you all to catch up.

They could have replaced Paul with a potted plant; it might have been more useful.

I think the problem with him, is he's playing a character... But doesn't quite work. They're clearly staying in a hotel and is mentioned as such, but he's playing a character acting as though it's his house or something.... It's weird.

I guess he's quite well known in Australia,as is Davina.

OP posts:
FluffyYucca · 31/12/2022 22:45

The hotel is very underwhelming compared to the UK version

00100001 · 31/12/2022 22:52

The UK version definitely has more style!

I finished the series! It got a lot better as it went on, tho I fastforwarded a LOT. V satisfying ending. Can't say more as it might spoil it. But please all hurry up and watch so I can discuss.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 01/01/2023 23:14

on episode 4 now.

I like it and agree with PP that there’s not as much over investment in loving each other. I found that weird in the UK version that everyone was acting like they were there with their close families.

Some bloody weird characters though, and so egotistical reminds me of the Apprentice. The estate agent with no eyebrows reckon he’s in the top 1% of estate agents in Aus. They’re probably agreeing to sales so you will leave them alone more quickly you creep!

Also cannot believe what the weird ‘psychic’ said was taken so seriously.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 01/01/2023 23:40

Also is it just me or are the tasks really hard?? They’ve done really badly so far. The bridge one was impossible to win anything until the very end!

Lentilweaver · 02/01/2023 06:46

A thing that did bother me was in both the UK and the US version, when the players had nothing to go by in the early stages of the game, their first instinct was to banish a brown man. Until the white men drew attention to themselves by being obnoxious or weird or giving then a "proper" reason.
