Even the other professionals (Gio) have been online earlier today saying they wanted Gorka to win with Helen as he's been over looked for years. No wonder he's so pissy. He must be thinking what more can he do to win.

ShakeYourFeathers · 17/12/2022 21:53

When was Alisha Dixon a judge on strictly. It was a question in something the other day. And the answer was Britain's got talent not strictly. Was confused

I think it must be increasingly hard to have to stand the and look pleased that you didn’t win. They are tired and all worked so hard for this that is is only natural they are disappointed and it shows on their face. I think the all did a great job to put a smile on at all.

The others managed it!

So you need to complain to the bbc and get them to drop the public vote I guess. I mean I know fuck all about dancing. Absolutely less than nothing. I just vote for the dances I like and the people I like 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't know anything about dance either. It's just my opinion. Assume the judges do though.

IconicKitty · 17/12/2022 21:54

I think they need to axe couple's choice next series. It makes the show dance pointless.

IntentionalError · 17/12/2022 21:55

I’m no expert, but even I can see that objectively that is a ridiculous result which makes a mockery of the competition. I get that it’s an entertainment show / popularity contest not a sporting competition, but it’s still daft.

I agree

So over 20 years ago and she hadn’t actually been a tap teacher. OK then.

The point is that she isn't a non dancer like you claimed!

Hamza is the only actual non dancer so you should be delighted.

Sunbird24 · 17/12/2022 21:56

Well I’ve eaten all the darkmilk chocolate buttons I bought to make fudge with, but only drank half my wine… 🤦‍♀️

Ramble0n · 17/12/2022 21:56

I think that a non dancer winning is the whole point of Strictly.

Needs a partner who is not ambitious!:) Ambition is a cardinal sin in a woman.

I lost interest in this series about half way through so have missed many episodes but watched the final and think it was obvious Hamza would win - he made me cry. Meh about all the others in all honesty, they were good but no charisma whatsoever.

I've eaten most of the peanuts, half the crisps and almost all the Heroes.

Just wondering if I have any room for the apple and pear crumble I made earlier.

Yes, judges don't look impressed at all.

Feel a bit disappointed with that. Really like Hamza but he made loads of mistakes tonight and the others will know that which is why they all look disappointed.

Exactly !!!

keepcalm11 · 17/12/2022 21:58

Poor Gorka, this was arguably his best chance to win partnered with Helen

Hamza's samba shows what a good dancer he is. He wasnt great tonight but delighted he won.

Absolutely. I've watched it so many times, it's beautiful and moving.

I do think Hamza would have been better served doing his utterly charming Cha-cha instead of his CC. It was inevitable they'd ask him to do his Salsa again as it was such a crowd pleaser, but recapturing the unexpected delight of the dance the first time round would always be a tall order. I do wonder if his knees and wrists have been pushed to their limits this week - worry for him doing the tour. For me he has been the most consistent, most joyful, most impactful and least mawkish contestant this series, so I'm very happy he won.

Anyone stayed on 1 for That’s My Jam?

I'm recording it, not the husbands thing, but I watch the American version on you tube it's good fun.

SequinsandStilettos · 17/12/2022 22:00

Gio, Kevin, AJ were all bridesmaids, AJ may have made the final at some point bless him. Kevin always took it on the chin as did Gio.
Gorka has been in the final with Alexandra, Maisie and Helen.
Joe won. I wanted Debbie to win.
Bill won. I wanted NoVowels to win but voted for Maisie because of her showdance alone.
Hamza had my 6 votes tonight.
Gorka has done well this year but he's not as endearing to me as, say, Kai or Nikita.
I do wish we had seen Nancy's showdance now. Although, if other choreographers do them all now, it may well have been shite.

ThursdayLastWeek · 17/12/2022 22:00

I thought the way Helen and Gorka had to sort of remember to go and celebrate with J&H was hilarious Grin

nothing wrong with being ambitious I suppose, I found Fleurs genuine celebration on Hamza much more endearing.

I voted 50/50 Fleur and Hamza tonight (but blind because I was at work until half way through the show)

Aleisha replaced Arlene Phillips the year after she won Strictly. Think she only did one season and then Darcy Bussell replaced her.

SoupDragon · 17/12/2022 22:01

In an interview in 2016 Helen said "I won a Ken Dodd tap-dance award when I was 17," she said, before later adding: "Not a lot of people know this, but I'm very good at tap dancing. People are often amazed I can tap dance." Then, when
strictly started it became "oh, I danced when I was a little girl".

Just be honest about it! It's the "deceit" that irritates me.

anyway, it wouldn't be Strictly if half the posters weren't pissed off with the result or irritated by something about an assortment of contestants 😂😂 It's what makes the threads entertaining.

Lentilweaver · 17/12/2022 21:51

It's become a competition about who is the kindest and most 'beautiful human'. Or who we think is a beautiful human ( actually we only see what the camera shows us) . Not about dance at all. Might as well have scrapped the final.

Feeling really sorry for Gorka. That's 3 times now he has had the best dancer and lost to a supposedly 'kinder person'.

I really don't agree that Gorka had the best dancer tonight.

Nah, it makes it such a boring final as we saw tonight
