What do the dance experts on here think has happened to Tyler? He had such potential at the beginning but doesn't seem to have advanced very much.

It's strange, he just hasn't progressed. I had him down as a potential winner.

Maireas · 19/11/2022 23:28

Couple's Choice always scores well, it's hard to mark down and there's usually a sob story.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 19/11/2022 23:30

I loved Tyler tonight. Favourite dances were him, Fleur and Helen, but feel those two must be safe so voted Tyler x2 and Hamza x 1. Everything he and Jowita do is just magic.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 19/11/2022 23:32

I couldn’t believe Craig’s comment to Will about Tyler’s hips.

Wheredoallthepensgo · 19/11/2022 23:35

Placemarking to find this new thread.

Watched live tonight and voted for Hamza, Helen and Kym.

Hamza cos I luffs him. He's the DUDE.

Helen because for the first time ever I felt some joy watching her. Hadn't warmed to her and the rictus fixed grin before but tonight was different and I really enjoyed watching her tonight - and was actually watching her rather than Gorka.

Kym I thought did a great job and felt she deserved better scores. Plus Graz seems to be loving it all and his joy of Paso and still being in the competition is infectious.

Ellie has been in the top few since the beginning. She hasn't seen improved. To me she's another woman I've never heard of who could already dance, same as Fleur and Molly. They are interchangeable blands

Eh? Confused

Ellie T has been near the bottom of the Leader board several times and saved from the DO by the public.

She's a stand up comedian with no training, not a stage school product.

You're talking bollocks.

I know totally uncalled for

Shirley and Kai having a little waltz at Blackpool.

Have to say Polka, Shirls has the moves. Makes you realise the gulf between them and the celebs when you see two professionals dancing together, even just a wee warmup.

Musermum · 20/11/2022 00:12

Just caught up after a pretty poor win for Ireland. Loved Helen... Brought such joy.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 20/11/2022 00:28

She's also (I'm having a Shirley stalk this evening!) been across the road at the Empress Ballroom for the British Nationals.

And I've been trying to
find some competitive same-sex videos to show you for yonks bit late now and have finally found a good one! This is how I'm used to seeing all girls — matching dresses etc.

Very late catch up as we were out for dinner and waited for DH to bugger off to bed. Hamza made me smile but didn’t blow me away. Knew Craig was going to comment on Molly’s retraction - it definitely lacked something. I really liked Kym’s paso, she seems to finally be getting more into the performance of her dances, it would be a shame for her to go now. Hated Tyler’s, and I also had picked him as a potential finalist at first but no, not for me. Ellie looked like she’d totally blanked right at the start, I don’t know if that’s why she was apologising to Johannes at the end or if there was something else I missed. Helen’s was my favourite of the night, I’d be very happy with her lifting the trophy. Loved Fleur’s, could have done without the sob story though. Am really warming to Nancy this series - thought she was OTT with Rhys last year but she’s a phenomenal dancer. Shame I just can’t warm to Will!

For me dance off should be Tyler and Ellie - on this week’s performances Tyler should go but judges would probably pick him over Ellie.

FartOutLoudDay · 20/11/2022 02:10

I’ve also never seen Craig bopping along like he was in Fleur’s dance.

SolInvictus · 20/11/2022 07:29

EsmaCannonball · 19/11/2022 22:07

Was Mr Bean the camera operator and Frank Spencer the director?

I knew I'd be voting for Tyler as soon as I saw the poor bugger in the Aston Merrygold Wig of Doom.

Fleur danced like she was in a back-brace. I wasn't thinking of Beyonce, I was thinking of the Tin Man.

Will's 'hen-night stripper who should have jacked it in at least five years ago' shtick was Purest Blackpool. Total fun at last.

Gorka's one step away from lying down in the middle of the dance-floor and letting the audience use his genitalia for a hoopla game if it will get him the Glitter Ball. Shameless.

I couldn't tell if those weird bunny-hop things Ellie did were choreographed or a lift gone wrong, especially as she was apologising to Johannes so much for cocking things up (and I couldn't see anything else that was obviously a blunder).

The atmosphere was a bit off tonight. The Clauditorium and the Blackpool audience were fine but the events on the dance-floor seemed a bit under-produced and unspectacular. Most of the celebs seemed knackered and under-rehearsed and they didn't really perform 'out' to the audience and cameras, most of the extra dancers weren't well-integrated into the routines, and there weren't any Blackpool moments like Joe McFadden descending from the rafters to go gay-nightclubbing, Matt Baker back-flipping across the floor or Kelvin Fletcher's prison press-ups. Even the costumes were very ordinary. They just didn't seem to go big enough this year.

I haven't watched yet but looks like I'm in for a treat 😂

I have seen the clips on Instagram and from what I saw (which obviously is based on a 10 second "highlight") I think Fleur is going to leave me cold. The clip on there has her stomping not dancing towards her place in the middle of the extra dancers and brings to mind one of French and Saunders' spoofs where the comedy dancers crash into a "proper" routine. But ..given it got 40 I guess I'm well off-piste. (I also think that whoever is designing her outfits possibly hates her more than Ellie even)

The others (based again on Instagram highlights) all looked good tbf.

I'll be back when I've seen the full monty (I did spot Graziano looking for the first time ever like you'd not kick him out of bed for eating crisps so that's nice )

Lentilweaver · 20/11/2022 07:33

Looking back, I didn't really enjoy the night. The camera work was very odd, the extra dancers were incredibly distracting, the music was terrible.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 20/11/2022 07:33

@PolkadotsAndMoonbeams
Loved that clip of the all girl couples. Thank you :)

Piggywaspushed · 20/11/2022 08:03

Just looking at James Jordan's scores. He gave Fleur, Will (he really likes him), Helen and Hamza 9s. He thought Hamza was best. BUT he also gave Tyler a 9, so that's interesting. He rated the dance. He said 'no way they can be bottom two again '. Hmmm. We'll see.

He gave Molly 8 and then Kym a 7 and Ellie T 6/7.

Shirley and Kai having a little waltz at Blackpool.

I've watched your links - thank you. Lovely

Shirley really does have presence, doesn't she?? It's more than just being technically superb - there's a quality about her personally that sets her apart.

Inkanta · 20/11/2022 08:33

Just caught up.

Ahh loved Helen and Gorka - they were so happy and carefree.

I think she could win.

Blip · 20/11/2022 09:01

Helen's dancing usually leaves me cold but tonight I thought her dance was the best, much more engaging than usual.

I also loved that the judges did a bit of dancing.

The camera work though was dreadful.

I’m confused - Ellie has dance experience?

Wheredoallthepensgo · 20/11/2022 09:15

@Flyinggeesei234 no she doesn't, that poster is wrong.
