with regards Type 1 and Tyoe 2 diabetes, someone upthread
mentioned that Type 2 (Sue's diabetes) is different from Type 1 as you don't
need a strict diet. There's a lot of confusion about Type 1 and Type 2.
My daughter has type 1. It's an autoimmune condition and isn't preventable.
They can eat what they want as long as they take enough insulin for
it.
They don't have to follow strict diets at all. This is a total myth.
The only thing they can't do is consume fast acting sugar like orange juice or jelly babies etc, unless they're experiencing a hypo (low blood sugar). Everything else, including giant slabs of cake and pizza, can be eaten as long as they count the carbs and inject enough insulin to cover it.
