Just watched the festive Sewing Bee and feel like I’ve been on the crack! Esme’s fancy dress outfit Grin

Now I’m watching James Bond - think it must be nearly Christmas!

Raahh · 22/12/2022 21:17

Sewing Bee was brilliant, I really enjoyed it . (Had no idea it was on today, either) Fizzy Loved Patrick and Esme as Sony and Cher Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 22/12/2022 21:37

It was great Grin

kazzaD66 · 22/12/2022 22:25

I enjoyed the tennis!
(Am I on the right thread?) Xmas Grin

Fizzywinegum · 23/12/2022 10:23

Ha ha you know things can get a bit random here kazza Grin - glad you enjoyed the tennis!

Fizzywinegum · 24/12/2022 16:05

Managed to get everything prepped for tomorrow, not had my usual Christmas Eve meltdown (hope it doesn’t happen tomorrow!), got a G&t and about to watch the Snowman! Gin

Merry Christmas everyone and hope we get lots of good tennis in the new year 🎾🎾🎾

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 16:12

Not feeling it at all. Have done no prep. Currently drinking wine and contemplating whether to go to church this evening but think I'll stay home and watch Kate's carols instead.

kazzaD66 · 24/12/2022 16:22

Definitely not feeling it this year! No Christmas decorations for the first time ever! First time in at least 15 years I won't be cooking Christmas lunch. Off to inlaws tomorrow instead.
Don't even feel like drinking atm, as had a bad headache all day!

Anyway, merry Christmas to everyone and here's to a better 2023!Xmas Smile

Fizzywinegum · 24/12/2022 17:05

Sorry to everyone feeling rubbish - Christmas can be a tough time Flowers

magimedi · 24/12/2022 17:09

Happy Christmas to you all.

Very low key here, as it is generally in France. But 4 year old & seven year old excitment is undimmed. Just loving being with the family & realise how very lucky I am.

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 17:36

Hoping I'll be a bit more Christmassy tomorrow. Merry Christmas everyone WineTennis

Evening every one!I have had several one or two ' I'm never doing this again /I do everything you ungrateful arses' strops , over the last few days. This is is a Raahh Christmas tradition- and doesn't have the effect that everyone changes- so I don't know what I do it!
I have prepped everything, and there is nothing to do apart from the beef- which si for dh to do. Our takeaway was a disaster and took forever- I've had my first drink in weeks, and feel a bit better now. CheersWine

But I get very stressed around Christmas and always feel bad that we never seem to do anything. The dc are happy enough though- and it will soon be over Grin

I am enjoying the Kates's Christmas thing- it reminds me of how much I miss stuff like that. Having a tuneless singalong to the carols Grin

This year, in a few ways, has been pretty crap. It has also gone alarmingly quickly.

Merry Christmas to everyone Wine

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 20:09

The carol service was lovely. I started crying when the Ukrainian children were on.

Jane that bit was lovely, wasnt it? The teacher looked so proud at the end. I've cried a lot this week watching stuff- am very teary over the slightlest thing- the Rob Burrow award bit on SPOTY floored me. Sad

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 20:38

Ah the most wonderful time of the year...

I'm watching Jason Manford trying to cry now Xmas Grin

Not feeling very Christmassy here either - we’ve all been ill and still not feeling great. We have parents/in-laws coming over tomorrow and I just don’t feel up to ‘people’. Oh well, hopefully I can sneak off for a quick nap! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Raahh · 24/12/2022 20:47

It's an odd Christmas eve on tv- lots of singing shows. I've also discovered the Christmas Bake Off is tonight- bit of a come down, that's usually a Christmas Day thing.

I've never really understood the 'Christmas Day special' stuff though, because most years I am very unlikey to watch tv on the day itself, until a bit late. We did used to watch Doctor Who (I was usualy a bit drunk by this point and would have to re-watch it though) Grin

I might record the King's Speech- just for historical purposes. I can honestly not remember watching the Queen's speech. Not on the day, anyway.

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 20:52

I used to love the Downton Abbey special but there's nothing much on Christmas Day this year I think apart from Emmerdale of course.

Raahh · 24/12/2022 21:18

I am looking forward to the Eastenders episode, I must admit Grin.

In tennis news, Fickle McFickle Kyrgios has been saying that winning tournaments mean nothing if Djok isn't playing. (he used to brown nose Roger, so has changed his tune massively with regards to Djok of late).

I'd have more respect for him, if he just blatantly said 'I don't like Rafa'. It's allowed . Just stop being a passive aggressive dick. Grin

He is also really looking forward to the United Cup,apparently. Thinks it's really important, blah blah. Which Djok isn't playing in- so - does that mean the tournament means nothing then, really, Nick?

(Our) Boris's latest interview was apparently a big ratings failure. And more tuned in to the German equivalent of 'The Bidding Room'.
I like the Bidding Room. Grin

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 22:54

Poor Boris. A prophet is never recognised in his own country Xmas Grin

I have finally roused myself to make red cabbage, trifle and chop some carrots. DH and DS1 have gone to the pub.

Raahh · 28/12/2022 08:32

Surprise surprise, Kyrgios has indeed withdrawn from the United Cup the day before it starts. And a match with Rafa.

The other way around, and he would have been saying Rafa was avoiding him Hmm.

Can't say he will be missed. Grin.

Be nice to see some tennis( once I figure out if I can actually watch it and the time difference).Grin

Fizzywinegum · 28/12/2022 10:30

Oh dear that’s a shame about Kyrgios- not!

I saw something on Facebook saying that Rafa, his wife and son were on their way to Australia (Rafa and Xisca seemed to be stood next to the snowman from Frozen Grin)

I’m not sure if any UK channels are showing the United Cup Raahh? The Australian time difference always confuses me!

I’m currently working from bed! All through lockdown I never done that but just couldn’t face getting up and dressed properly today - hope no one video calls me - they might get a fright!

kazzaD66 · 28/12/2022 11:32

I was looking at the tournament website yesterday and couldn't work out how to watch it, but then I'm not very techy Confused
Team GB in just about the toughest group!

Andy Murray was speaking with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe on Radio 4 this morning. Might try and listen back later, it sounds interesting.

impossibletoday · 28/12/2022 12:17

As far as I can see........
Nadal is playing Norrie on Saturday at 3.30pm in Perth which is 7.30am here on Saturday.

As watching here all I can find is mention of streaming which I don't understand!

Maybe on the United cup website?
We can see when it starts tomorrow

impossibletoday · 28/12/2022 12:18

As for watching.....
