I'd like Nikita to get someone with a good chance of the final.

I think he's really brought the best out of his partners. And that dance with Carlos 'Mad about the Boy' I go back to again and again. He was awesome tonight.

Well, that was a bit of a damp squib.

Tony does seem like a lovely person, even if not a dancer.

He's had quite good coverage on the interlude dances this series, particularly as this is his first week not competing.

Just caught up.

Well, that was a bit of an anti climax, but I think it was time for Tony to go. He did hint at wanting a break on ITT.

Pleased for Fleur, Molly, Helen and especially Graziano. His reaction was spectacular.

The opening pros' dance was beautiful. No gimmicks or wacky costumes, just classic, good old fashioned ballroom.

"Thierry time". LOL 🤣

Reckon there will be 8 dead relatives hiding in the rafters 😂

It's like the 'ten green bottles' but with ten dead rellies instead.

That would be an awesome pairing 😍

@ilovebrie8 Katya did give a lovely speech about Tony. Said how much she loved him and how much fun they had together... then it cut to Tony's wife! 🤣

I was really underwhelmed by this week's show. Usually there are one or two dances I rewind and watch again, like Helen's jive last week. This week was all a bit meh. Although Hamza's CC was fun and we may see it again in the final.
Hoping for some more memorable numbers in Blackpool.

Did anyone else notice when Katya was talking about Tony, she said something like "And yet again, you're speaking over me" when he interrupted her farewell tribute.
I also was surprised he didn't say her name, his tribute to her seemed very brief.
I'm sure he is a good bloke, who's conquered his problems but I don't think there's much love lost between the two of them.

Did she really?😂I adore Katya. She takes no prisoners. They are two very different personality types.

She definitely did say -again you interupt me when I'm talking- or words to that effect.
He is a big personality who will be missed but it was his time to go.

I thought there was something a bit off between the two of them this week. Maybe it was his injury.

Katya was professional and went through the motions tonight but I thought she was a bit subdued at the end. (Subdued for her is a lot more animated than most people 😄)

I commented on another thread that I longed for a pro dance that was just a beautiful classic waltz. Tonight it felt like they'd actually been listening to me!

I think Tony was going to say more about Katya but he was interrupted by Tess who then moved on to asking Katya a question.

Katya always seemed to be struggling to get a word in edge ways with Tony talking so much. I thought she often looked uncomfortable too, the way he flung a heavy arm around her shoulders and dragged her with him when he was bent double with laughter, so although I enjoyed their dances, I also think it’s fair to say there’s not much love lost between him and Katya.

I thought it was a jokey comment 🤷🏻‍♀️ never got the impression they didn't get on. The media tried to whip up an argument between them last week because of his low scoring and Katya being very competitive. However, Katya said some lovely things about Tony and was hugging him very affectionately at the end.

Think maybe dead rellies will be put on hold for Blackpool and expect a resurgence of kidwarz and grandkidwarz... all that sand, candy floss, slot machines etc.

I think Tony and Katya did get on - just not in a lovey dovey way

Tony is an old school footballer who played most of his career under George Graham - therefore he’s used to receiving orders, often delivered harshly. As captain he was also used to giving orders himself.

I suspect Katya is a very hard taskmaster - which will have suited Tony. I reckon they both gave each other as good as they got.

and Katya is a brilliant choreographer - if ever I was on Strictly I’d want her as my dance pro :)

Competitive or not, I'm sure you have a clue within a week of meeting and first dancing with someone whether they are going to be in with a chance or not. It's obvious he was never going to win, by all means you still train hard and out in the effort but I'm sure she realised pushing him to his limits and shouting at him as some media has reported wouldn't make him a winner.

I think they looked like they had a very genuine relationship, much more so than all the "I am so grateful that this man came into my life" "we'll be friends forever" gushing. In any case, the sleb always does more talking than the pro, Nikita throughout (not just when Ellie was eliminated) could hardly get a word in edgeways such was Ellie's bubbling enthusiasm. Ellie T and Helen are similar, Tess/Claude are always waving their hands to say shuddurp, my earpiece is saying we need to move on. Tony does the same and people try and whip up an issue that IMO doesn't exist.

Same last week, when comments on here would have you think they'd had a blazing row live on telly, I watched the supposed row about 5 times thinking I'd missed something, because it wasn't there! Or the "groping her breast" comments. Which he wasn't doing.
