And as people say, though Ellie S has gone, she will be very fondly remembered and celebrated! I think she both got a lot and gave a lot from her time in Strictly, and showed another side to Nikita. I think he has learned something about how to showcase his celeb partner.
Thanks also for the link to her documentary, really interesting.

And it's shown the more fun side of Nikita - I didn't particularly warm to him prior to this year, except that I loved his Frankenstein dance with Tilly.

Late watching results tonight.
Oh I've got the teary eyes. Ellie S was a joy doing that Charleston. The adaptations Ellie and Nikita have made as dance partners has been inspiring.

I would have got rid of Molly and Carlos, I find them dull and forgettable. I wasn't sure how it was going to work with Ellie and Nikita at the beginning of the series as he seemed hunched and I thought it might end up being awkward and uncomfortable with the height difference - but they've been brilliant. Ellie's confidence just makes her a joy to watch and she is up for everything and the dances have been changed brilliantly to make them work.

Ellie S was far more impressive than Molly.

At least Ellie S got to leave on a night when she did an amazing dance and looked really stunning.

Luckily Arsenal are top of the league. Some of us Arsenal fans watch Strictly too.

The lovely, very upright BBC Bill Turnbull did a VW to Golden Brown, which is very definitely a song about heroin. The prize, though, for the most inappropriate lyrics surely must go to Gemma and Aljaz tangoing to My Sharona, a song about a man getting it up for his underage girlfriend.

I did once think the beautiful music from Midnight Cowboy would make a lovely Movie Week VW, but then realised the theming problem. Giovanni tries to get Debbie McGee to pay him for sex, ends up giving Craig a hand-job instead, and when they go over for the judging at the end they realise that Bruno's died halfway through the routine.

It wasn’t just the “spot Neil” thing, though. Smug and creepy were two of the less offensive things said about him repeatedly over a period of quite a few years, so I for one will breathe a sigh of relief if that’s the last of it now.

I wouldn't have thought that Arteta and the current team"s performance are relevant to the volume of people voting for Tony and Katya, who evidently want to continue to watch the partnership the following week.

Would absolutely love to know the voting numbers - DH says Arsenal fans have a reputation for coming out in droves for any kind of vote for their team, at this rate Tony could bloody win it. I can’t see Katya going along with a polite withdrawal!

Ellie was inspiring and will certainly be remembered but I think she's gone as far as she can to be honest. It really should have been Tony and somebody in the bottom 4. I feel nothing watching Will, as he's not had a good dance since week 1. I am however pleased for Ellie T as she didn't deserve those scores.

Felt sorry for Molly, but they really need to up their game. For comparison, Maisie Smith was in two consecutive dance offs in weeks 4 and 5 but then made it to the final without any further dance offs. Molly could still make it to the final but she needs a wow dance, I think. She's not had Jive or Charleston yet, so that might change things.

Did anyone else spot her mouthing "Sorry" followed by "Are you alright?" to Ellie at the end? She must feel terrible.

Can I just say that I am gutted.

Not just at the result. Fabulous v forgettable. And they go with forgettable. Unreal.

And also the fact that they absolutely mullered ‘I guess that’s why they call it the blues’.

(And sorry, I didn’t need to hear the story either. It seemed calculated to mention it in order to avoid another dance off/get folk to forget the shenanigans.)

I feel flat.

I don’t know what to say about the stage school kids, they need some decent dancers I suppose, but they need to make it a more level playing field, maybe with a handicap like in golf.

I rarely watch ITT but I am interested in Tony and Katya this week. Row seemed real and made the press.

Real shame about Ellie - her and Nikita totally nailed the character of that dance. She should not have been in the dance off. Obviously Tony should have and possibly Ellie T though that 3 from Craig was totally uncalled for. I did wonder if her being called first to be saved was a sort of apology for that!

I cannot warm to Molly- or Carlos- at all. Can’t doubt they are technically very good tho.
