I liked Hamza but wish his coat was an inch or two shorter. Also liked Helen, they both have natural grace.

Fleur is the opposite. I thought bits of her dance were amazing but it's just too frantic in parts. I don't think anyone really pulls off a crotch in the face lift and it would have been better without the middle one.

I think it's areas like this where the skill and experience (or not) of the pros shows. We know Fleur is stompy coming out of a fast lift and the choreography there didn't help. Katya and Kevin from Grimsby on the other hand are the masters of showing what someone can do and disguising the less favourable bits.

On the Neil front, I've always wondered if Katya was overly villanised for the Sean what's his face business. KFG has had a remarkable number of wives for a man his age and they seem able to remain friendly. I wonder if visa issues for dance partners might ever come into it

So on the subject of The Great Ellie T Frock Disasters of 2022...What do we think the endgame is?

I'd say that she was uncomfortable portraying herself in sexy outfits, or doing a deep feminist piece about the value of beauty. But she often wears tiny sparkly frocks to events and for standup, and she wore a little sparkly number for the launch show, so it's not that.

Do we think they're actually going to pull the least surprising "OMG, it turns out she's actually a stealth hottie!!!" since Anne Hathaway took her glasses off in Princess Diaries and turned out to look like Anne Hathaway? I don't want to believe that they'd do anything so crass. Could it genuinely just be coincidence?

Or does she think the best way to make herself promote herself and stand out is to make it very obvious that she is A Comedian. Baffled.

I do like Ellie T by the way and would be happy to see her get to the final by any means necessary. Just intrigued by the semiotics of her frocks.

Ummm ....... One of Kevin's ex-wives tried to kill herself after he met her for dinner and told her that he was leaving her for Karen and that she was going to have to find somewhere to live and a new job as well. (She had travelled to London to appear in Burn the Floor, which Kevin and Karen were also in.) IIRC, she also only found out that he'd been married before after she'd married him and discovered that his dance partner, with whom he still shared bedrooms and hotel rooms, was his ex-wife.

No silly Hallowe'en Week group routine. I feel short-changed.

I do remember reading in the Mail, Clare Craze's account of overdosing on anxiety pills and knowing nothing about Anna Melnikova. She did a shedload of sad faces for them and absolutely slated him. So yes, no friendship there.

God, I've just reread it. Hell hath no fury but, if accurate, he really did a number on her. As for using the same line in both wedding speeches and suggesting the same name for a future baby boy...let's hope Stacey chooses. Heath Clifton sounds ridiculous, even if you are a Brontë fan.

KG is definitely not a nice guy, but he was a brilliant teacher. I don't really care if either the pros or the celebs are nice. James Bye and Amy are both probably saints, but so dull. Give me awful people who can dance anyday! Though Tony appears to be the exception to that rule.

Brendan mellowed over the years, but certainly knew his stuff, equally James Jordan is a bit of a nasty bastard as good as he is. I do think that James never won because of this, even though he came close twice. Brendan only won because of the romance angle and that due to it being Sport Relief, his competition come the final was Chris Parker, who had become a joke entrant. Anton might have won instead that year too but Lesley Garrett was too gushing and it got offputting (for me, but I imagine others) Anton certainly took it seriously that year. There was also less Latin.

Have only just caught up as DP had the football on 🙄.
I can not warm to Helen. She just seems so bland. I don't think there is any chemistry with her partner either.
I enjoyed Fleur, Ellie T and I adore Hamza.

Can we take a moment to talk about the awfulness of Tess. It's painful. She can barley read from an autocue. Any ad-lib buts are so insincere how has she got this gig? I remember her being the 'eye candy' to Bruce's old school style (he was fucking awful too). But did she present anything before ? She must have. I know she used to be a model. Obviously she's stunning but I don't think she is capable of presenting such a massive prime time show.

Posters on here who have been to the recordings always say how good she is off camera - I think she does a decent job (am sure it is harder than it looks) when I compare her with Tyra Banks. If I ever feel she is Tessbot 2000 (see newzoid pisstake on youtube) then I always remember how sincere she was when talking about Bruce.

Jayde Adams would have been doing a Black swan paso had she not gone out last week. She makes an amazing Ursula though - shame she could not have done Poor unfortunate souls.
Anyone interested on you tube you will see a Black Swan inspired paso by Nev Schulman and Jenna Johnson. Rumer and Val, of course, slayed with their Ursula samba back in the day and Holly and Artem did their swan lake AS eleven years ago.

Where have you seen this? You'd have to be paying close attention or deliberately looking for these things though, as I assume they are probably on his social media or the Daily Mail.

I only notice him at the end when they announce the lines are open, when pretty much everyone else is doing the exaggerated excited thing.

I don't hate him but I do feel disappointed with the opportunities he's had with his celebs. Alex was decent enough, but Nina was a wasted opportunity.

This year the contestants have been gushing about how well looked after they are, how supportive it all is etc. is there something going on? And how does that work if you have a love rat on team?
