Anyone seen this yet? I'm not quite as convinced by the casting for this season as I was for previous ones but will withhold judgement until I've watched the whole series.

Elizabeth Debicki looks the part as Diana, although I thought Emma Corrin captured her voice better. Dominic West is very flattering casting for Charles but Olivia Williams as Camilla is uncanny. I never thought she looked anything like her but they've made her a dead ringer! Same goes for Jonny Lee Miller as John Major.

It looks like this season will cover events up to and including Diana's Panorama interview.

FWIW I don't think Anna Anderson was a deliberate 'imposter'. I think she was severely mentally unwell and absorbed the persona of the Grand Duchess Anastasia. Certainly she probably had a more comfortable (although never easy given her troubles) life because of it than she might have had otherwise.

I’ve just finished it and it didn’t approve. Boring writing and awful casting made this by far the weakest season of the five. It says a lot that the most interesting episode was the one about the Al-Fayed’s, where the RF barely featured. What a shame my former favourite TV show went downhill so quickly.

Exactly All those juicy scandals at that time and they hardly used any off them.
Snoozefest this series.

Just finished the Al Fayed story, but would love to have known where the money came from, we got selling coke bottles in Egypt to suddenly buying the Ritz in Paris! It was was fascinating and really enjoying it, but Ive enjoyed it all , I thought Clare Foy deserved an award as the young queen she was spot on from what I’ve seen in old footage.
Sad to see how it played out with Charles and Diana both troubled from their upbringings and so different, but he could have been so much kinder to her but perhaps didn’t know how. Camilla is the “ mother figure” he was looking for but how tough for Diana to know she was just supposed to turn a blind eye to it all.
I am not that big a royalist but I’ve enjoyed it all their lives are fascinating, getting dressed by someone but totally ignoring them to have a conversation with someone else, haha what an insight it’s been.

Fayeds money initally came via his brother in law (wife's brother, Dodi's mum) Adnan Khashoggi. Khashoggi was a major arms dealer. Always used to make me raise an eyebrow when Diana was campaigning about landmines given where Fayed money came from.
