Really didn't want to watch Cock but was score watching earlier and then lost track. DS went back to uni this afternoon after reading week and, of course, I had a little cry to myself as soon as he left

Atleast Stefan won the two Wimbledon titles vs Boris either side of that loss though Raahh (although* *I obviously didn't take it well either!)

What they didn't seem to mention (or I missed it, if they did)was Stefan's Paris win came due to Becker retiring in the first set of the final they played

But- a win is a win, right ?

Well done to Caroline Garcia, who won the WTA tour finals. I have only seen a few bit of scores- Swiatek who was racing through the rounds lost in a topsy turvy match to Sabalenka in the semis, who then in turn lost to Garcia in the final. Caroline has had some good results this year, is often overlooked and previously better known for her doubles. But she is a very good player, and has proved that now.

Kazza yup- the tie was truly awful- but he's ageing very well.
It will be 40 years next year since he achieved the junior Slam- the only player to do that. I probably have a 40 year old scrap book rotting away somewhere.

I have never done a scrap book for Rafa. I feel I have neglected him I hope he doesn't mind.

I tried to look at some scores from the Next Gen finals yesterday, but as usual the whole thing baffles me.

The Wimbledon app also sent me a survey about 5 set doubles matches . I fear this is probably a move to scrapping them- since I don't think all the slams play 5 sets do they in doubles? (Kyrgios was whinging about it). I don't like this 'dumbing down' of tennis much. I like epic 5 set matches.
If the Next gen format trickles down, I will be annoyed - and I know there are pundits who are for something like that. If the likes of Petch and Kyrgios think these things are a good move- then they are obviously not

There's clearly a middle ground though, between these quick-fire formats -and an Isner match. No-one wants an Isner.
