I’ve seen it before and am eagerly awaiting the next series to come out in November(?) but decided to start watching again after the Queen died.

Us! Same reasons as you.

BusyBeaMe · 20/09/2022 22:10

it was my plan to start it from the beginning tonight but DD3 is putting stop to that. Will try again tomorrow.
So pleased the next series is coming soon. What will that be centred around? I’ve forgotten how the last one finished.

By coincidence I watched the first episode again the night before she died and I've binged it all 4 series in the past 2 weeks.

Yes

Was interesting to see them
Attending the vigil for her Father in Westminster hall

baxtersm · 20/09/2022 22:14

Have never watched it and started it today. King George has just been found dead in his bed! Think I'm going to enjoy it.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 20/09/2022 22:16

Yes.

I didn’t understand the gravity of her mum/sister/grandmother curtsying to her the first time I watched it.

I did the second time.

FayeGovan · 20/09/2022 22:16

I started watching it but the continued commentary on the actual queen was doing my head in and put me off anything remotely royal....even The Windsors, which is just brilliant..

ZenNudist · 20/09/2022 22:18

Love the crown but already rewatched so not doing it again. Love the first season and the Diana season. Love younger Prince Charles, love Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman equally. Love matt Smith and tobias thingy as Philip.

Don't think I will feel the same about it now she's just a character in history.

Just watching Spencer tonight as was feeling the need for a royal fix but it was dull and annoying meant to be set st Sandringham and looked nothing like it.

jokingfox · 20/09/2022 22:18

I'm on season two now. I was planning to rewatch the whole thing before November when the new season comes out.

Afterfire · 20/09/2022 22:19

I love the Crown. My son aged 10 (an “old” 10!) and dd aged 19 started watching it after recent events.

ThatDarnCatAgain · 20/09/2022 22:19

Count me in. I've watched some of it before, but restarting now. A rewatching thread might be nice

667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 20/09/2022 22:23

So pleased that we have all had same idea!
@ZenNudist what is Spencer ? Not heard of this. @jokingfox yes that’s what I’m doing other wise I forget stuff ! Although it’s coming into stuff I remember now from the 80s Diana etc.
@Afterfire yes my DD was aged about 16 when she started to watch it, she loved the corgis !

I said to Dh last night I have an urge to watch it from the start again. Think it may be winter evening viewing.

Think the last one was Charles and Diana’s marriage starting to have cracks appearing, I don’t think Andrew had met Sara Ferguson yet but I might be wrong, I’m sure someone else with a better memory will tell me !

Always4Brenner · 20/09/2022 22:51

Purplehonesty2 · 20/09/2022 22:52

That's our plan after we finish game of thrones!

Loved it the first time I watched it

80sMum · 20/09/2022 22:56

Ha! Yes! I started re-watching it about a week ago. As a matter of fact, I'm watching it right now. I'm up to episode 9 of the first series.

Ydkiml · 20/09/2022 22:56

Just started to watch it last night . Love it , and we addicted to it already . We only upto Winston wanting the Queen to drop the amount Batten name . It’s brilliant

NotABeliever · 20/09/2022 23:02

How fictional is it and does it not bother you that you don't know what's true and what's not? I'm tempted to watch it but...

Ydkiml · 20/09/2022 23:02

It was reported that The Queen herself had a routine that every Sunday night she watched it and loved it too !

jokingfox · 20/09/2022 23:04

It's on the top 2 on Netflix right now, I guess we aren't the only ones watching/rewatching it :)

This is why I don't want to watch it, I think I might end up getting confused as to what is fact and what is fiction and I like knowing facts.

NotABeliever · 20/09/2022 23:21

Exactly scrivette
It feels different with dramatisation of people who are no longer alive. But maybe AIBU.
