Anyone watching The Crown after Queen’s death ?

I’ve seen it before and am eagerly awaiting the next series to come out in November(?) but decided to start watching again after the Queen died.

I've already re-watched the first 3 seasons and watched series 4 again during the period of mourning - my DD2 suggested it.

Cannot wait for Series 5 which should come out in November. The cast looks very interesting. Jonny Lee Miller is John Major!

Lol I know that made me laugh about Johnny Lee Miller being John Major , also Maggie Thatcher being played by the gorgeous Gillian Anderson! However she really got all the mannerisms and voice spot on I thought

I enjoyed series 1 and 2 more than 3 and 4 because I didn't know as much about the earlier period. I found the actors portrayl of Charles really good but I lived through that time so not as interesting I suppose. I'll still watch the next 2 series though obvs 😉

lol yes that’s what I thought about Johnny Lee Miller, they did the same with Margaret Thatcher just glammed everyone up. I was the same I loved the first 2 series as I like vintage fashion and it felt like “proper” history as I hadn’t lived through it. I wonder how far up to date it will go now the Queen has passed away

I’ve been upset about the Queen but I’m not someone that takes a lot of interest in the royals generally. But I did find I had a lot more sympathy for the Queen especially after watching it

Does anyone else think it’s a bit strange that you don’t see the Queen and Philip kiss on the show ? You see them kissing each other on the cheek, do you think it’s deliberate on the part of the writer to try and be respectful as she was a reigning monarch ? It just seems strange to me. Sex is alluded to, I’m sure we don’t really want to see that and I get that would be a bit dodgy, but the lack of kissing is weird or is it just me ? 😀
