Anyway, as it says in the thread title. New series starts tonight.

I’m still watching but I’ve gone off GBBO this series a bit.

a lot of the bakers have been absolutely terrible. Only a couple are consistently any good at all.

Paul is a knob

The old Bake Off episodes are on the Food Channel. Watching them makes me realise how far downhill the programme has gone recently.

Said it upthread, but the issues could be so easily sorted. Warm presenters who are engaged with the contestants; contestants picked for their ability, not as a 'cast', relatable challenges. Oh and PH should be reined in.

True and although not chosen due to it good bakers can also be interesting anyway. They must think this version makes commercial sense but I’ve only watched one of this series and followed the others here or on twitter

Just caught up. Yes, I'm getting tired of Paul. The comment to Dawn was just another example of his awfulness.

Also, I started playing a drinking game in which I take a drink every time Noel and Matt say something funny...it's perfect for those of you doing sober October. 😀

We are loving the Australian bake off. It's how bake off should be.
