No they get it all for free. Nadyia and others have said how they got amazing things when they asked for them.

As soon as a contestant says they’ve changed something or taken their own spin on things, he raises an eyebrow and walks away. And you can guarantee he won’t like what they’ve done. It’s like an automatic bad judging.
