Are you there, Jane Jeffer? Those of us who have seen Britbox saw a little more from Mrs. Wheatley when Charlotte left the house, than was in the ITV version. I can explain it if you want me to.

Oh my God I nearly missed the final episode and saw the thread here in time to watch on +1! And oh my God I love this programme so much

All of the cuts have annoyed me but I can't believe they cut that scene with him and Mrs Wheatley by the window.

Thanks @StarbucksSmarterSister wow! They made Mrs Wheatley look like a right hatchet face by cutting that out but showing her nodding at Colbourne as if she approved of his leaving.

Even though I hate the Colonel I would have been quite happy for idiot Tom to lose the game.

And their relationship is obviously very long standing and important to both of them!

@JaneJeffer , Starbucks has already put the link on and you will have seen it by now. And how right she is about the importance of that little scene. It is the only time (so far) that anyone called him Xander, as well as what she said.
And he didn't shut himself away again. He's widening the girls knowledge of their world, however heavy his own heart is. They both blew it!

Now, if you haven't ever looked at YouTube 'Heybourne' you could do that now. There are umpteen variations of compilations but there are also proper snips from the programme. If you look at, I think, 'Charlotte applies as governess' you will get the whole of that scene, where Luna the dog runs after Charlotte -- not hugely important, but it was there.

Reddit Sanditon, which has been going with endless threads since the USA saw it in March/April

I found these by accident really, because I looked for reviews of each episode when it was shown in the USA, and one google move leads to another.

I was sad not to see Mother and Father Heywood at Alison's wedding.

Jane I would have enjoyed it more if DH wasn't in the room, continually asking questions! He saw a bit of episode 4, so kept asking who was who and why Colbourne was such an arse when he dismissed Charlotte. Of course, that would have been explained a little more if ITV had kept that 'Xander' scene in They also cut the bit at the ball last week when Charlotte said to him something along the lines of "I must know who you are" . How many other crucial lines or scenes have been chopped for those who only have ITV?
Anyway, I have last night's recorded, so will have to rewatch when there is no one here to disturb me - well, Colbourne's scenes anyway

Last night I noticed several chops, which weren't terribly important, but just a shame to leave them out. One was when Fraser messed up what he wanted to say to Alison, and he stepped out on to the street and said, I think, "Damn". Another was when AC went out of the tent, after being goaded by Lennox, and he said, "You are not fit to mention their names." i.e. Lucy's and Charlotte's. What else did they leave out?

What parts of S2 pleased you and which didn't, folks?

I'd also recommend Susan Firth on YouTube - her playlists show all the scenes between all the major characters from each episode, plus also her own tribute videos.

did anyone else notice the darcy-esqe playing with the dog whilst the lady looks on? 🙈

Ralph is a plot device. I saw an interview where it was said they had studied Austen's own life quite a lot. She got engaged very briefly but dumped him because she realised she didn't love him. I am sure that's what will happen. Sadly I doubt Charlotte will ditch Ralph within 24 hours, as JA did to her fiance. They will make us suffer. ☹
