New drama starts sun and mon for 1&2

then 3&4 following week on Sunday and Monday

the lovely Nicola Walker and Sean Bean

The acclaimed British actors play Ian and Emma, who are a couple navigating the ups and downs of their 30-year partnership.

They are parents to Jessica (Chantelle Alle) and are dealing with their fears and insecurities as the drama explores the risks and gifts of a long-term relationship.

Marriage on BBC1 sees married couple Ian (Sean Bean) and Emma (Nicola Walker) negotiate the ups and downs of their 27-year marriage. They've dealt with all the insecurities, the ambiguities, the hopes and the fears that are part of all marriages. The drama explores the risks and the gifts of a long-term intimate relationship.

When we first meet married couple Ian and Emma they’re in a Spanish airport returning from a lovely holiday — and bickering over a baked potato! By the time they’re on the plane it’s a full blown argument, setting the scene for what’s to come in this four-part series.

looks good

Terrible music too, safe to say I won't be watching again.

Notlosinganyweight · 14/08/2022 22:01

I'm struggling to see what the point was. What is this actually about? I won't be tuning in tomorrow to find out.

WGACA · 14/08/2022 22:02

The music 😱

twoqueens · 14/08/2022 22:03

Umm not that bothered about it so far.
He's far too old for her, is that a warning for those who date/marry older men?

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2022 22:03

Rich house poor house was much better

and weirdly enough local to me. Didn’t expect that when turned over

I also didn't liked it. There are loads of people out there like that. The tedious clearing up and loading the dishwasher.
Reminds of my parents. Only they argue more.

LookdeepintotheParka · 14/08/2022 22:03

Going against the grain here - I think it's got potential. Both great actors and there's some intriguing back stories.

That's a heck of a theme tune!!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/08/2022 22:03

Has she shagged Jamie?

Aquarius1234 · 14/08/2022 22:04

Sometimes there is tension in families. Hate that buts it's true to life.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2022 22:05

This is on tomorrow on bbc 3. Red rose

I'm now watching Alan Carr's Adventures with Agatha Christie although the DDog wants to go to bed. I've got a feeling the DDog will win...

Romeiswheretheheartis · 14/08/2022 22:06

What was all that with the girl at the leisure centre about?

topcat2014 · 14/08/2022 22:06

I liked the realism of the sets. The kitchen side being a mess etc. Office looked reasonable complete with passive aggressive staff

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 14/08/2022 22:07

I think I may just watch DH snoring on the sofa next episode, it will be just as interesting.

SoupDragon · 14/08/2022 22:08

i can't decide whether it was intriguing or dull 🤔

I found the scenes at the gym unwatchable.

I'll probably watch tomorrow to see how it pans out.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 14/08/2022 22:06

What was all that with the girl at the leisure centre about?

I'm wondering where that's going to go. To me it seemed realistic, he was obviously trying to flirt with her but just came across as a creep.

Bonjovispjs · 14/08/2022 22:09

Well, that was a disappointing yawn fest and that music was horrendous.

silvercurls · 14/08/2022 22:10

I dozed off....

I dozed off....

Did the music wake you up?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 14/08/2022 22:11

Odd, slow, tedious … but strangely watchable!

Houseplantmad · 14/08/2022 22:12

I’m watching on delay - it’s unbearable! Such a disappointment giving the potential…

silvercurls · 14/08/2022 22:12

CPTP it did, horrendous. Shan't be bothering again, I've got The Secrets She Keeps to catch up with tomorrow :)

PuppyMonkey · 14/08/2022 22:12

I see I’m in the minority but I’m rather intrigued about the dead child (?) the controlling boyfriend, the leisure centre woman, the hiding brother, the weird coldness but then not with the relationship. I’ll watch tomorrow.

There’s only ten years or so between Sean Bean and Nicola Walker, I IMDBed them.Grin

PritiPatelsMaker · 14/08/2022 22:14

I missed a couple of bits, which seems to include the dead child. Please can someone tell me about that bit?

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2022 22:14

I don’t know whether to watch last 30m of tonight’s …..
