I mean honestly - how many people are going to want to start cooking their 3 course meal at 9pm on a Friday night?????

i thought that too

then dh suggested taping it - then you can pause it etc

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 18/01/2008 14:40

I thought it was rather late.

Also wondering how many people have a telly in their kitchen or a cooker in their lounge.

FarcicalAlienQueen · 18/01/2008 14:40

lol - I suppose you could. Probably have to - what's the betting he chops everything up and works at "professional chef" speed - rather than "normal person at home" speed??

is it going to be like hells kitchen with him shouting "come on, up the f&% carrrots up you stupid *(^&"

FarcicalAlienQueen · 18/01/2008 14:41

Nab - in theory I could do it - our TV is in the lounge, - but I can see it from the cooker....just, and if I turned up the volume really loud (so that the DS's who'll be asleep in bed at the time) can here it then I could join in

yes NAB - all that running back and forth from kitchen to TV

You could set fire to something

LoveMyGirls · 18/01/2008 14:42

Tv chefs make everything look so easy and quick because it's all chopped and washed in a dish right next to them if only real life was like that i'll still be watching it though!

nailpolish · 18/01/2008 14:42

god i hope so bbbeee

i shall send dh out on a loooong message and so i can be alone whilst gordy is sweaaring at me

swoon

FarcicalAlienQueen · 18/01/2008 14:42

mind you at least (if you've got internet access) you can get the list of ingredients here and the list of equipment you need here

love the fact that if you don't have all teh stuff you "may need to do washing up between courses" PMSL

Aitch · 18/01/2008 14:43

you are not, i noted this very fact in the paper myself.

surely if they wanted to do something like this for the majority of people that may actually like to try and cookalong - a Saturday/Sunday late afternoon/early evening would be better..

Aitch · 18/01/2008 14:45

oh yes, cod, the very wealthy eat at ten pm to keep up their gout.

you can even get the recipes on teh website too........just as well I don't want to join in - for the main course you have to pre-heat the oven to 220/Gas Mark 7, and then you put the stuff in there for 30 minutes..........well it takes my knackered old oven about 1/2hr to warm up - so my chips would be ready once I'd finished the desert LOL.

it's not unknown for me to pull my laptop into the kitchen to watch iplayer when mn is boring.

mmm gordon ramsey .

technically I could as can could hear tv from kitchen (and don't have to see it ) but def don't want to start cooking at 9 at night.

like idea of taping though.

nailpolish · 18/01/2008 14:51

what is he making anyway?

feelbe attempt to look interested in the food not just gordon

Sunshinemummy · 18/01/2008 14:53

Guess I'm common then as I love having a TV in my kitchen.

Is everyone doing this? DP's company are sponsoring and we're taking pics of ours for him to take into work.

foxinsocks · 18/01/2008 15:01

9pm would be about right for us in terms of cooking but a) I have no tv in my kitchen b) I can't see why I would want to spend an hour of my evening trying to follow instructions off the tv (and inevitably, getting it wrong) and c) have you looked at the ingredients? sirloin steak, scallops? hardly an every day meal round fox towers.

Sunshinemummy · 18/01/2008 15:03

I think the food looks yummy and I got a great deal on scallops in Waitrose.

foxinsocks · 18/01/2008 15:05

you're biased .

Bet his food is divine though .

nailpolish · 18/01/2008 15:06

i hope he does it if the buff

nailpolish · 18/01/2008 15:06
