Me and DD have discovered horrible histories recently and it’s very funny not to say easy on the eyes. The songs are our favourites I think mine is Charles the 2nd King of Bling, though it’s very hard to chose one.

DS loves the Richard III song. I have seen it so many times I know all the words. He has a King Richard dressing up costume.

My Dad who was in the RAF loves the one about the Battle of Britain because it is really historically accurate.

Pachacuti

We love literally, the bad emperors is great when Nero sings ‘of badness I’m the Daddy’. Love the Few, Dick Turpin, the Aztec Priests, Boudicca, William Wallace, Marcus Lucinius Crastas, the monks, The Greek thinkers, Spartan school musical, the one with the two Matilda’s Steven and Henry. Basically all of them! We always seem to have one we are humming.

Oh and the George the fourth one ‘at last my reign began, though I was now older than your Nan’. I’ve actually learnt a lot from them.

So hard to pick a favourite! We love the Kings and Queens song, Boudicca, Terrible Tudors and Magna Carta.

TheMarzipanDildo · 15/07/2022 09:36

Norman family tree one with the Matilda’s.

Uyhmo · 15/07/2022 09:38

That's like being asked what's your favourite child!!!

The Few
Luddites
Literally

OP you should look for the HH Prom on YouTube. It's magnificent

Piemam · 15/07/2022 09:48

King of Bling! The live plays have great songs too, albeit a touring cast and not the TV ones, it is a riot!

Too many, it’s just too hard to choose. The Few. Crassus. Spartan High School. Pachacuti. They’re all bloody genius. Oh, and the Cowboy song!

While I prefer anything that has the lovely, lovely Ben Willbond forefront, Matt is probably the best at impressions - his Charles Dickens/The Smiths one is absolutely pitch perfect

NashvilleQueen · 15/07/2022 11:42

Honestly there's not a bad one among them. I have a real soft spot for I'm a Greek because I love how amazing they were as a civilisation.

NorthernTights · 15/07/2022 11:43

Argh! So many good ones! Favs are Patchacuti(?) Suffragettes, Charles Dickens Morrissey style, Kings and Queens always, Aztec Priests, MLC, Bad Roman Emperors, Dick Turpin, William Wallace Scottish Rebel. The song specials they sometimes put on iPlayer are brilliant!

Cotherstone · 15/07/2022 11:44

DCs and I spent most of the Easter hols learning the chorus to the kings and queens song 🎶

Ohhh, William, William, Henry, Stephen, Henry, Richard, John - oh!

evilharpy · 15/07/2022 11:45

Kings & Queens. But to be fair there's never been a bad song, they're all genius.

Also love the Stupid Deaths theme. And have a thing for Mathew Baynton.

BuellerAnyone · 15/07/2022 11:48

Rosa Parks

ohwhatfreshhellisthisnow · 15/07/2022 11:49

Why has no-one mentioned the Bloody Mary one?!! That one is my absolute fave!

kirkandpetal · 15/07/2022 11:49

Omg, all of them!
LOVED watching HH when my kids were younger. And yea, they too can recite the kings and queens song which should be handy!

Such a talented group of individuals. If you haven't watched Ghosts, you should do. Has a lot of the cast in it.

Splodgerbodgerbadger · 15/07/2022 12:26

We have watched Ghosts that’s how we came to find horrible histories. We have watched Yonderland and Bill too which we also enjoyed.

Another who can’t choose because they’re all genius.
Kings and Queens, if you twist my arm - dd9 knows it all with voices and facial expressions.
I’m contentedly planning her career as a academic historian.

MrsWooster · 15/07/2022 12:39

There’s also a YouTube channel which shows the HH songs AND their inspirational song, hence DD’s extra curricular interest in popular tunes 1970-2000.
