I’ve heard so much about this movie as it’s a Blumhouse movie and I am obsessed with them. I’ve seen almost all of them.

Anybody seen this movie and if so, what are your ratings out of 10 please?

1/10 being not worth watching and 10/10 being definitely worth watching?

Thanks! 😊

It's worth watching just for the "WTF are my eyeballs even seeing".

Do it.

ermagerdabear · 07/07/2022 20:55

I don't think Midsommar is a Blumhouse.

Anyway, it's a good, if weird film. It's got a Wicker Man vibe to it. I've watched it a few times because there's things you miss.

It's definitely worth watching, there was a thread about it in the films section

Oh yes, I live for movies like this!

Ok well I fell asleep before it even got past the first 5 minutes last night as I was exhausted and it is a 2 and a half hour long movie so I’m going to try again today.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m sold! :)

Really? I thought it was because when I Googled Blumhouse movies, this is one of the movies that came up. Maybe I’m thinking of a different movie. Either way, thank you for the feedback :)

Literally one of the weirdest films I've seen definitely worth a watch!

Onlyrainbows · 08/07/2022 07:12

It's an Ari Aster film (same director as Hereditary). Great film, lots of hidden meanings, many WTF moments. We religiously watch it every 20/21 of June :)

FindingMeno · 08/07/2022 07:15

It is a brilliant film.
I'm the world's worst at forgetting film content, but this is Memorable ( yes - with a capital M!)

aletterfromseneca · 08/07/2022 07:19

For me a 10. But if slow-burning psychological horror is not your thing then it might not be you. I know a lot who couldn’t finish it, but that’s really understandable. Worth a try at least!

Anon778833 · 08/07/2022 08:42

I think it’s very good. It has a lot of depth when you look for it’s meaning.

AnyFucker · 08/07/2022 08:43

10

it’s a weird one though,. Love it or hate it

TheBikiniExpert · 08/07/2022 08:55

I'm intrigued but does it stay with you in a good way or in a scarred-for-life way?

Bit of both. It's one of those films that has you searching the internet for explanations of what it means but there are also a few 'wtf just happened?!' scenes and some 'hands over the eyes, can't watch' scenes.

Florence Pugh is great in it though. She's one of those actresses who just nails every role she plays, a bit like Kate Winslet.

User74936782 · 08/07/2022 12:20

It's on Netflix at the moment if anyone wants to watch

ZealAndArdour · 08/07/2022 12:24

It’s a really good film with some absolutely gorgeous set design and stunning visuals, as well as some very interesting plot twists and emotionally arresting scenarios.

I struggle to rate things out of ten but it’s definitely worth a watch.

itsmellslikepopcarn · 08/07/2022 12:27

I loved it, 9/10 for me. My partner who loved Hereditary hated it though.

Soubriquet · 08/07/2022 12:30

I loved it. That first gore scene had me gasping

UpToonGirl · 08/07/2022 12:34

For me it was only about a 5/6 and it should have been my sort of movie. I thought it was all predictable and frustrating to watch. I really didn't get the love for it.

Florence pugh is excellent though, it made me more likely to watch her in other movies.

JimMorrisonsleathertrousers · 08/07/2022 16:00

I loved it. Very memorable. Would definitely watch it again.

Wouldloveanother · 08/07/2022 16:02

Oh I loved it but then I used to maypole dance as a child!

lospolloshermanosass · 08/07/2022 16:04

10/10, absolutely loved it.

maisieandvicks · 09/07/2022 16:31

Thank you everyone for your feedback!

Because I’ve read the Google reviews and a large percentage of people are saying it’s rubbish, not worth watching, waste of 2 and a half hours etc.

But after reading your reviews I am totally sold.

Going to watch it right now!

Do it and report back!

Don't be put off by the first 30 minutes, which are pretty horrible, but the rest of the film is very different. It's gorgeous.

Just prepping my dinner now and then going to sit down and watch it.

Oh and I’m definitely not put off by gore or anything of the sort so I’m definitely going to stick with it.

Thanks!

I've just NC'd for this as I post a lot, but I absolutely adore this film, to the extent that I've had 2 tattoos based on the film. 😂

I love it. And once you've finished this film you must watch the original version of the Wicker Man if you haven't seen it.
