OMFG... what a show. Now we will probs have to wait 2 years for the next one but bloody hell they know how to end a season.
just a few questions

1. I was convinced Eddie was number 10, he still could be but I’m bummed we never find out and of course that they chose to kill him.

2 . Max was the star of the season. I almost thought she was a gonna and eleven wouldn’t save her. Close call

1. I’m so happy Joyce and hop finally got together. And how hot did hop look this season?


2. why am I convinced will is going to die in the last season. He was vecnas first ever kidnapping.


3. we need a robin and steve spin-off where they get new jobs at the beginning of every season.

any other points people need to get off thier chests 😋

Loved it, but agree with others that it dragged in places and the ending felt very flat. Can't wait for 5!
Ps. While you are all admiring Hop I'll take Dimitri.

Just watched it.

Have to say, this season has been my least favourite and Vol 2 wasn't as good as Vol 1.

There were some truly stressful and emotional moments; Max, Eddie, and then Max again, which shows that there's moments of excellent storytelling, but it didn't have the same slickness or pace as previous seasons and it felt like it had lost something as a result. The next and final season had better be spectacular; anything less will be an epic disappointment and ruin an iconic series.

On the other hand, I still love it. It's still one of my favourite series of all time.

And Hopper got hot...! I did not see that coming, and now I feel quite confused...!

I think I must be in the minority of finding Hopper much more attractive before he went to Russian prison. Skinny, bald Hopper not so hot for me 😬

That was brilliant, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.

Lily Allen is rumoured to suffer with an eating disorder and although David Harbour might have lost weight for the prison storyline I wondered if his wife’s issues may also be linked to his weight loss.

I don't think Max is gone, or the whole part of here El said "No" and restarted her heart would have been pointless. But Vecna used so much of her to open the 4th gate that she won't be the same. It's not quite like Will, where he was used as a host...

My guess is that because Vecna was in her mind and used her energy to open the gate, I think when she comes back she may have some of his thoughts or powers.

@LidlCinnamonBun wow that's some serious reaching about eating disorders. I'm pretty sure the weight loss is due to the character being in a Russian prison camp. And a bit of photoshop.

Agreed - pretty shitty comment from op re his appearance, let alone linking it to his other half.

Aside from the weird stuff above, I thoroughly enjoyed the last two episodes.

I’m rubbish at coming up with future plot lines, so won’t attempt to do so, but am marking my place so that I can see what everyone else thinks!

My comment isn’t weird and not from ‘research’ from experience. It’s not unheard of for people who have disordered eating to have a relationship (not necessarily a romantic relationship) with another person that sadly makes both their issues worse. I didn’t comment ‘negatively’ about his appearance at all. I mentioned his dramatic weight loss - other people called him ‘skinny’.
There’s comments on this thread (or maybe the other thread) about the actress who plays Nancy’s weight that are very actually critical about her appearance so why don’t you comment on that?

I just saw you said reaching not researching but my comment still stands.

I reckon that will come up again in season 5, my guess is they went into some poor Russian guard (or prisoner?)

I imagine Hopper had to lose some weight to make the storyline plausible, he probably gained weight for the character in the first place.

A lot of the other actors seem very skinny but Nancy is the one that stands out. I saw an interview with her where I barely recognised her, she looked like a ghost 😕 I hope they are all being looked after properly on set.

People did comment on the other thread saying it was totally inappropriate to comment on somebody's appearance especially when they suffer from an earring disorder. The same way it's totally inappropriate to blame lily allens alleged eating disorder on her husbands weight loss. I'd personally assume the £350k per episode was motivation enough for him to lose a bit of weight

Actors lose and gain weight for roles all the time!

I loved this series as a whole, I must say, even if I wasn't sure about the ending. So much good acting, especially from Sadie Sink as Max who had several long, really emotional close-up monologues that I imagine even the most experiencer adult actor must find a challenge - she was outstanding.

It did seem like Robin had a bit of a personality transplant between series though - I mean, she was a snarky hard-ass in the last season and in this one she was suddenly all ditzy?

Yes especially for such a young actress.

Hooper lost lots of weight getting in shape for hell boy. Sadie is an incredible actress, her background is in theatre so I wonder if that helps as it utilises a broader range of skills in many ways. I really liked Robin in the first series she was in (2?) but she's been a bit of a spare part since then imo but I expect they kept her in because of her parents.

I'm glad Lucas got more to do as sometimes he has felt like a spare! And his scenes with him and Max...sad!

I agree with DH that it was a bit of an annoyance to have an epically long final episode that doesn't actually tie anything up and then leaves more questions than answers:

• Vecna's fate not totally sure - is he gone, but the gate is open, or still 'alive'?


• Eddie remains falsely accused and with apparently no way of anyone ever convincing the populace of his innocence


• Max hovering between life and death

and so on.
