I also think the Cinch thing is weird Raahh - maybe Rylan and his Mum will have front row seats Grin. It’s also very purple (I preferred it when it was sponsored by fever tree Gin)

It looks as if Dan and Matteo are playing each other in the first round on Tuesday? It will be nice to see Matteo - can’t believe it’s time for Queen’s already - that’s next week's viewing sorted out!

Back from holiday now - done about 50 million loads of washing today - only another 50 million loads to go Hmm

Hopefully the tennis will help with the post holiday blues!

I saw a picture of Rafa on his yacht this morning - he looked as if he was having a nice time - not sure if he’s had his foot procedure yet?

Raahh · 12/06/2022 18:49

Glad you had a good holiday, Fizzy.

I don't like the purple, either. It took me long enough to to get used to the blue after years of of it being red and white when it was sponsored by Stella Artois (and in my head, it always will be Grin).

Raahh · 12/06/2022 18:52

And definitely, Rylan and Linda should be invited to hand out trophies at the final. Grin.

JaneJeffer · 12/06/2022 18:54

Linda could do the commentary. I can hear it now: What did he want to go and do that for?

Raahh · 12/06/2022 19:38

Oh, it would be great GrinI love Rylan and Linda. I never liked Rylan on X Factor, but I've grown very fond of him over the years. I loved the fact the Italians thought he was actually our Eurovision act at one point, because he was wandering about Turin in ott outfits.
Probably for the best he wasn't singing though Grin

Raahh · 12/06/2022 19:53

This has prompted me to watch 'Celebrity Gogglebox' because I had recorded it and forgot.

Linda's response to Paddington at the Jubilee has not disappointed me .Grin

I love this thread. We talk about all sorts, and none of you mind, and it cheers me up when I am having an otherwise rubbish day. Grin

JaneJeffer · 12/06/2022 20:23

This thread is the only thing that makes me try not to get banned from MN Grin

magimedi · 12/06/2022 20:27

This thread is the only reason I stay on MN!

Raahh · 12/06/2022 20:32

And we are very glad you do Magi Grin

I won’t get to see much of Queens this week, as I’m being sent on a conference today until Wednesday, then out all day at another meeting on Friday. Hopefully might get to see something on Thursday!

Fizzywinegum · 13/06/2022 08:33

Aww I love this thread as well - the rest of MN scares me!

Rylan's Mum talking about Paddington on Gogglebox was hilarious Grin

That’s a shame Chessie - I get annoyed when real life interferes with tennis. I’ll hopefully be able to watch some later - better get some stuff done!

kazzaD66 · 13/06/2022 09:00

Saw a little bit of Dan beating the porn star tache yesterday. Had it on in the background whilst doing more funeral/wake/probate paperwork. The funeral is on Wednesday, so hopefully will be able to watch some Queen's towards the back end of the week - although there won't be any Brits left by then; they've got tough draws! I hope Andy is ok for Queen's and Wimbledon Hmm
I notice that Jack Draper has edged into the top 100.

Raahh · 13/06/2022 09:55

Flowerskazza I hope it goes as well as can be expected. My mum is still battling though probate /house sale stuff for my uncle (and my gran wants nothing to do with any of it) It's just a never ending bunch of paper work and hassle.

Fizzy I mainly stick to here ,and the Doctors thread. And sometimes, mix up the two. Grin There's enough stress to be had from watching a Rafa match, I don't need to read an angsty thread on AIBU.
Linda was great talking about Paddington- 'He's not there, is he??? Grin'

Fizzywinegum · 13/06/2022 10:33

kazza hope all goes well on Wednesday and with everything else Flowers

Raahh - yes Linda was funny - she was still convinced that Paddington was a puppet like Sooty Grin

Apparently Daniil is now World no 1 after losing to someone that no one’s ever heard of Hmm - he doesn’t seem to have much luck when he’s no 1!

kazzaD66 · 13/06/2022 11:48

Thanks for the best wishes.

The Dutch bloke hadn't even won a tour match before this tournament, so I doubt many Dutch people had heard of him either Grin

Apparently it's the first time since November 2003 that the top two has not included at least one of Andy, Rafa, Rog or Cock. And the latter will lose another 2000 points as the current Wimbledon champion, which is about the only positive to take from this whole situation!

JaneJeffer · 13/06/2022 11:51

I feel like Stef should be higher up the rankings because I think I've seen him play more times than anyone else this year!

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 13/06/2022 12:14

He's dropped below Raah's favourite* Norwegian, I think Jane? *

Fizzywinegum · 13/06/2022 13:18

Bet Sue wishes she’d not opened up this can of worms! I’d forgotten that AC would be making an appearance and now it’s John Inverdale commentating- I think we need some new blood in the tennis world Hmm

The court is too small for Opelka - I’m not sure how tall Alex de Minaur is but he looks tiny at the other end of the court!

Fizzywinegum · 13/06/2022 13:18

I’ve not seen Rylan (or his Mum) yet Grin

Raahh · 13/06/2022 13:23

kazza I hate the situation as it stands- but there is something satisfying about seeing Djok dropping down the rankings. Silver linings and all that.

(I am still holding out for the US Open not letting him play, unvaxxed. At the moment he wouldn't be able to.).

I was watching Sue/AC/Peter discussing the rankings/Wimbledon. AC is getting quite strident.

I'm not sure the US Open will take the same stance as Wimbledon over Russian participation.

Stef is indeed below Casper now, due to losing his points from his final spot at RG last year- and Ruud gaining his

Matteo is one of the big casualties of the Wimbledon/Points thing- because he has been injured and not played for a while, so he has not consolidated his top 8 place, and will drop to around 20 when his finalist points drop.

Raahh · 13/06/2022 13:25

Good win for De Minaur- Opelka did well in the doubles last year.

JaneJeffer · 13/06/2022 13:28

I recorded the chat because DH rang me and I want to go back and hear what Peter thinks.

OP posts:
Raahh · 13/06/2022 13:31

Did AC say Uncle Toni was coaching Tsitsipas? That's why he's crap. He gets everything wrong.Hmm

And shut up AC. Rafa was injured. Don't stir that pot. We know who you support.
