I loved this ! Smiled and laughed all the way through.

I loved it too! I’m such a huge fan of the podcast and to me it was exactly what I expected and what I wanted to see

JaneJeffer · 16/05/2022 22:50

I thought it was really annoying and switched it off. I like Chris Ramsey on other programmes.

NowThatsWhatICall22 · 17/05/2022 00:16

I really enjoyed it too and already a fan of the podcast from the start, so I did wonder if it would feel quite as good on screen, as they are both so naturally funny together on the pod. Rosie is a great presenter, she looked fab, very relaxed and their chemistry you pick up on in the podcast was on screen too. It does feel a bit more Friday night than Monday, but I assume it’s to make you feel happy on a school night?

Anyway, hurrah for a real, genuinely funny couple who aren’t just trying to pretend everything is always hunky dorey. Good luck to them for the TV show, although I hope they don’t drop the podcast due to time pressures, anytime soon!

KurriKawari · 17/05/2022 00:57

I am just so glad they have their own show cos its so nice to have a show that isn't presented by the same three presenters on rotation like every other show.

KurriKawari · 17/05/2022 00:57

Chris is in my top 3 fave strictly contestants!!

And mine.

dannydyerismydad · 17/05/2022 10:32

Loved Chris on Taskmaster and also on Strictly. Couldn't stand the format of this though. I lasted 10 minutes.

RoofFlower · 17/05/2022 12:47

Not sure yet but only watched the first half. I really want it to be great because I love the podcasts which are hilarious, but feel they were reigning it in a bit to please the tv people.
Love them both and hope things go well for them.

MayDaze · 17/05/2022 12:58

I watched with trepidation.

I love them on the podcast and I love him on Taskmaster and his stand-up. I follow Rosie on Instagram and can't warm to her on there for some reason.

I actually really enjoyed it. There is definitely room for improvement, it felt a bit clunky at times and the flow occasionally stalled, but I was shocked by how good a presenter Rosie is - superior to Chris in fact. She's a natural on screen.

I think it's going to become big and I reckon it could be moved to a Friday night eventually.

thebellagio · 17/05/2022 13:03

The only thing I didn't like were the graphics announcing the different segments (e.g. whats your beef). They looked cheap and tacky, as if a 9 year old had discovered comic sans for the first time

But I think for a first show, it was really good - they just need to find their stride and potentially get better guests. I like Jamie Laing but his girl is a bit of a personality vaccuum, she didn't add anything to it whatsoever!

minou123 · 17/05/2022 13:09

I'm normally a bit wary when successful shows/people are given thier own BBC slot.
For example
Mrs Brown's Boys- saw it live at a theatre many years ago and it was brilliant. BBC slot, it is terrible
Sarah Millican - fantastic, clever comedienne. Her BBC show was awful.

But, I actually enjoyed C&R show. It was shaky in parts, but overall I found it really funny.
Loved the guy with the 31 year old pillow.

justamushypea · 17/05/2022 13:42

I thought it was really good. I did cringe when she did the Barry Beef thing, I hate those bits on the podcast but thankfully she didn't drag it out like she does in the podcasts.
Not sure about her trying to sing at the end of the show though, seems a bit contrived.

yeah the Barry Beef thing was a bit cringey. It kinda works on the podcast, but it felt really weird on the show. If you hadn't listened to the podcast, you would have been thinking WTF?

NowThatsWhatICall22 · 17/05/2022 15:05

Barry Didn’t translate for TV as well as other podcast features. Also, for anyone watching who hadn’t heard the pod, they would have been baffled by Barry😂
Laughed at pillow guy and really felt for the Ronan fan, thought it was v.funny when he appeared and he took it in good spirit.
Jamie Laing was more entertaining than I thought he’d be. Rosie was razor sharp with humour about his wealth. Will be interesting to see what other guests make an appearance.

Think it could be moved to a Fri, as pp has suggested.

MayDaze · 17/05/2022 16:34

I think Barry would have worked better had they introduced "him". My OH hasn't listened to the podcast so I was explaining various things (Inc Barry) to him. Had to explain the in-joke about Rosie constantly having to sing stuff - OH said "oh, like you but she's in tune" git 😂

We decided our relationship isn't strong enough to survive a go of "What's your beef" 😂

minou123 · 17/05/2022 16:41

😂aww MayDaze I'm sure you sing beautifully. What does your OH know, huh?

EcafTnuc · 17/05/2022 16:46

I absolutely love the podcast. They're so natural and funny and it's so nice to listen to every week. The show.... eee not so much. It was very cringe. I hate reality TV people so the first couple being that odious Jamie Laing and his partner almost made me turn off. They didn't have the same naturalness on the show, which is I suppose to be expected as it is more scripted. The barry beef thing was awful, and if people didn't listen to the podcast, very very random. The segments with the public we're the best.

Cluelessmouse · 17/05/2022 16:49

It felt like some kids doing a performance
they seemed so nervous and so coached
the graphics and links into each section were over rehearsed and I felt like it lost the more natural feel of the podcast.

The singing and the beefs felt self indulgent and weird
I didn’t get the it goes or I go thing since clearly it was always going to be the boyzone stuff, so why did all the pre amble to that need to take up so much time
and why did he need to keep asking them what they wanted to drink and walking behind the bar when the drink was already made up sat on the front of the bar? Surely there was a neater quicker way to establish the idea that they were drinking and having a fun time

I hope they settle into it because the actual content was decent enough
I thought Jamie and Sophie really saved it a bit as it brought more of that ‘normal’ couples catching up over a drink and sharing stupid stories vibe to it.

lollipoprainbow · 17/05/2022 18:17

Really like him but find her incredibly annoying !!

MinglingFlamingo · 17/05/2022 18:19

The Chris & Rosie Ramsey show, I thought it was bloody fantastic. Haven't laughed that much due to a tv show in ages.

I also love their podcast

MayDaze · 17/05/2022 18:21

"and why did he need to keep asking them what they wanted to drink and walking behind the bar when the drink was already made up sat on the front of the bar?"

Yes, that was what I found clunky. They should just have the drink waiting for them.

Batceanera · 17/05/2022 19:56

I like the podcast and enjoyed the first episode. Rosie is my absolute fave.

I liked Jamie and Habbs from Made in Chelsea too.

I liked knowing who Barry Beef was.

OuiWeeOui · 18/05/2022 10:09

I loved it. so refreshing to watch people who are genuinely funny

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 18/05/2022 21:40

Loved it.

I think the drinks bit was just because thats what you do when friends come round "Frank's on the drinks, what will you have?"

Agree Rosie does a good job presenting. Loved the laughing from them - they seem to really enjoy meeting people.

wotwududo · 18/05/2022 22:00

Love the podcast
Loved the live show
I enjoyed the tv show but tbh if I was someone watching for the first time I might have been disappointed. I always forward over Barry beef on the podcast it was even worse on telly. Loved Jamie, thought the banter was funny as was the chat with the audience. Was disappointed the audience vote was fixed although Ronan coming on was funny. Rosie's singing was a bit cheesy.
